it seems fastlane doesn't support the iphone duo yet (or the ASC API isn't updated yet?). are people manually uploading their iphone duo screenshots to ASC? for all localisations? 😓

10 years ago this month, i released @gametrack.bsky.social on the app store. i didn't think i'd still be working on it a decade later, or that 775,000 people would download it! thanks to everyone who's used and supported it over the years. i put a little page together showing how it's changed:

gametrack.app

GameTrack — Never Lose Track of Your Games Again

Like Letterboxd, but for games. Track your library, conquer your backlog, and discover what to play next. Available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro, and now Android (pre-order).

would anyone be interested in a super simple apple music client for macOS that just plays music with library and catalog browsing? music.app without all the itunes cruft?

one of the only changes they made to the music app on macOS 27 was to remove the album play button on mouse over 😤

is it normal for half my 256gb of storage to be used by iOS?

Being a parent is pretty tough, but it's all worth it for that moment, every once in a while, when you get to take your kid to the city to see a marching band and say, "Will you defeat them? Your demons and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?"

is "simulatortrampoline" something new in xcode 27? and why is it using 25gb of RAM when i don't have any sims open 😤

why can't the apple watch notify you as soon as it loses bluetooth connection with your iphone? left my iphone on a bench at the airport and this would have saved me a lot of time and stress…

does anyone know of a good resource for what siri AI should be able to do with my app on iOS 27, and what i need to specifically add for best support, if the current limited intent schemas don't apply to my app?

joe kimberlin @joekw.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

it's nice to get an occasional kind message from a user 🥺

spotlight search baffles me sometimes. when has anyone ever wanted the SETTINGS for an app to appear first (or at all for that matter?)

000

joe kimberlin @joekw.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

has anyone got Siri AI to successfully open something in their app? if i ask "open persona 5 royal in gametrack" it'll run search, instead of opening. if i have a list on screen and ask "open the 5th game on screen", it'll say "opening metroid prime" and nothing happens #iOSDev #iOS27 #siriAI

using the xcode 27 device hub is one of the most frustrating developer experiences i've ever had. just does not work in any shape or form.

xcode 27 has flipped the run/stop buttons?? that is insane

had a week long support conversation with a user about the app not launching after they updated to macOS 26.5. after sending them a test build with some updates, they said it launches now but they don't like all the changes! turns out they were talking about a completely different app 🫠

i guess 2026 isn't the year apple lets 3rd party apps add music to a users apple music library on macOS. maybe next year.

developer.apple.com

add(_:) | Apple Developer Documentation

Adds an item to the user’s music library.

looks like the .automatic topEdgeEffect on iOS 27 is now .hard by default. overriding it to .soft everywhere in your app brings back the iOS 26 appearance. mastodon.social/@Joekw/116716...

interesting iOS 27 forces hard edges for the nav bar again. can we customise that at all?

i do enjoy submitting a build to google play store and having it in production within 30 mins. a build i submitted to testflight at the same time is still waiting for review a day later.

truly an incredible notice to put on every page of your developer console when someone first adds a payment method. especially when it'll take 3 business days for the verification to be possible.
