I just typed "I woke up in a king sized bed, tick of a clock, stranger to my left" into Google because I wanted to look up a song (looks like it's called 'Trophy Wife' by Zorro, btw), but Google has launched me into some Zork-esque interactive fiction? What is this?
AI Overview The digital numbers of the alarm clock glow a faint, harsh green against the dark: 4:17 AM. Every tick of the analog clock on the wall feels heavy, vibrating in the quiet room. You are lying in a massive king-sized bed, the sheets crisp, unfamiliar, and smelling faintly of lavender and old wood.To your left, the blankets rise and fall with the slow, even breathing of a complete stranger. What Your Senses NoticeThe Room: High ceilings, heavy velvet curtains blocking the window, and a single suitcase sitting zipped by the door. The Stranger: Face turned away, buried under a thick duvet. You can only see a shock of dark hair and a sliver of a gray t-shirt.Yourself: Your head throbs with a dull ache, and your right wrist sports a plastic, neon-yellow wristband with faded barcode lines. You don't remember checking into a hotel, and you certainly don't remember who is sleeping next to you. What would you like to do next?Check the nightstand for your phone, wallet, or clues.Gently shake the stranger's shoulder to find out who they are.Slip out of bed quietly and inspect the neon-yellow wristband in the bathroom light.Do something else (tell me what you want to try).

Terra is literally never the best choice.
A quadrant chart showing that for every task, a different model was both cheaper and better than Terra.

One cool thing we're doing at @jazz.tools is reimagining migrations. Instead of migrating your data, you tell clients how to read it, inspired by @inkandswitch.com's Cambria paper. Last week I built this interactive diagram to show how it works. Check it out in our docs: jazz.tools/docs/schemas...

Happy to live once again in a country where this kind of billboard lines the streets
A tram pulls away from Gárdonyi tér tram stop, where a billboard shows the EU star flag, with the headline “Free press”, and the subtitle “Protect what matters” in Hungarian.

I mean, I was right, and as my wife knows, that’s very important to me… but what a terribly written email… *again*. ‘We sent an email yesterday where we said that “You must be 18 or older to use Zed”. We’d like to clarify on that: anyone is welcome to use our editor free of charge, however old…
Zed clarifying their actual position.

I love my Tele, but just got out my old Ibanez, and it holds up much better than I thought it would. Also: Joyo Jam Buddy II: absolutely slaps.
Me in an alternate universe with pyrotechnics going off behind me as I play guitar on stage.

Nice! 'Protocol' is a scary word for folks outside of tech, and mixing 'ATProtocol' and 'Atmosphere Account' might be confusing. What if we came up with a more user friendly name for an Atmosphere Account? excalidraw.com#room=9359b6d...

@kde.org couldn’t find your website source for a PR, but you’ve got two columns under “How you can help”, where the only item in the second is a photo of a chap holding a banana like a telephone. 🍌 📞 🧍‍♂️ aside, it makes the text quite tough to read, any chance you could switch to columns on mobile?

Gleam allows you to save your happy memories so that you can reflect on them when the bad times roll around. What would you value most as the next feature? 1. Easier discovery of moments 2. Mood tagging Anything else? #buildinpublic #mindfulness

I gave the same prompt to Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude and here are the results:

Not bad, still need some work to get a better oven spring, and I’m cheating with a loaf tin for the 100% wholewheat, but on balance, pleased with these two. #sourdough #bread #baking
Two loaves of sourdough bread, amateurly baked. The one in front is a 100% wholewheat with rustic cracks on top, baked in a loaf tin. The one behind is a white loaf, with some oven spring but not much, and inadequately scored towards the right hand side. The bit where the scoring has taken well looks fairly decent with a good ear and evidence of a decent rise in the oven.

So apparently, some important pictures enter the public domain next year: Matisse’s famous “The Treachery of Images” (Ceci n’est pas une pipe) and another one, by Salvador Dali called *checks notes* “The Great Masturbator”.
Marissa’s “The Treachery of Images”, a picture of a pipe with a handwritten caption in French, “Ceci n’est pas une pipe”.
