As someone who found the first Mila Jovovitch version uninspired action instead of survival horror, The new Resident Evil movie delivered all the tension and horror without paying lip service to fanboys. It was true to the atmosphere of the game, not the tiresome characters.

I got a Facebook message from someone i knew in high school asking “Is XX your brother?” I said yes, he sure is, to which he replied “Small world!” Dude, we grew up in a town of 5000 people. Ralph Stanley “O Death” -> Chicago “25 or 6 to 4.” While both songs share existential despair as a theme, it would serve better to pause a tad longer than the half-beat Apple Music provides to leave more space in order to let the bleakness of Stanley’s voice settle. B+
