Showed Andrew around Knoxville a lil bit, he’s in from Wisconsin. Happy to have some Jackie’s Dream in my belly.

When the TS version debuted TV, dad watched it. About 1/4 of the way through, he said “I’ve seen this before. It was a shitty Italian version, but Scott Glen played the Denzel part.” IMDB had not been out for long, I looked it up, sure as shit, dad had caught this version on HBO back in the 80s.

At the end of our weekly walk, @brentwaugh.bsky.social and I stopped into Waiting Room, who is currently having a soft launch opening. Coffee was delicious, didn’t make it back to B’s house.

Found the Tillamook Campfire Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. The ice cream tastes like toasted marshmallows. It’s so so good. #TrustMeImHusky tip: Kroger currently has these 2-for-1.

The fellas from The Milk Carton Kids did a meet and greet after the show last night. Couldn’t have been nicer, funnier. The second shot was captured by one of the folks from the Bijou Theatre. It looks like I’m giving them what for.

I’ve got a lot of friends and people I like that are die hard Modern Lovers fans. I tried… and it’s just not for me.

... Next month I’ll be heading over the plateau to Nashville to see DJ Shadow perform this album. Even sprung for the meet and greet beforehand. Hope I can get the words out, how much this album has meant to me in these 30 years.

... The first album to be fully built off samples. But it’s not just cut-and-paste. It’s a meticulously crafted piece of art. I thought back then that if someone like Mozart or Beethoven were born today, this may be the music they crafted. ...

…to seeing them at the Bijou Theatre for I think the fourth time. Great songwriters, terrific musicians, and possibly the funniest banter around. Also great seeing @paperwingsmusic.bsky.social opening, just saw them at the Laurel Theater months back

Always great to see The Milk Carton Kids! Makes the eighth or ninth time seeing the fellas. From opening for The Lumineers & Old Crow Medicine Show at the TN Theatre, to an ill-fated show at the short lived Bowery (metal band playing concurrently next door at NV, trains, a non-functional PA system)…

One weird note: the last song has two bonus tracks on the same file. They're great. Why in the hell they weren't just listed is confusing.

His album from 2003, Who the Hell Is John Eddie?, is a different sound, and absolutely great from beginning to end. The song Play Some Skynyrd, which is where the title comes from, is pretty funny. Some of the other songs are completely heartbreaking.

Is that Anson Mount? So wild seeing him get success via Star Trek. He was in a indie film that my mom found, shared with me. Tully. It's a slow, beautiful film about family. Hells bells, this trailer spoils so much. www.youtube.com/watch?v=js2a...

Out of food at the house. Had planned on going to the store. But, for some reason, my car drive to La Esperanza. I coulda got groceries there, but my feet sent me to the back, my mouth ordered steak fajitas before I could get them under control. Look at that steam.

Great seeing Handsome And The Humbles live at the Visit Knoxville / WDVX stage! In this pic it looks like Tyler is a hiding like a ninja. Maybe that’s a new nickname idea.

@spidey004.bsky.social Saw these on FB. Have you seen / read them? I seem to remember you speaking about some book books, but I wasn’t sure if it was any of these. I wish DMs had the ability to include photos, so I didn’t have to share this on the timeline.

Picked up the Apple Pie A La Mode Oreos, and they are a big win. Very sweet, green apple flavor. Good on their own, may be even better crumbled up in ice cream.
