Rogers is in a bit of a rut too, but his body language looks all wrong to me. He just doesn’t look enthused in a Villa shirt at the moment, there’s a lack of hustle about him

Decent point in isolation, Everton are good, but the lack of goal threat is an obvious concern. We’re not even threatening really. Hard to ignore the players missing from the middle of the park, but still not unreasonable to expect more. Take the point and move on.

Wasn’t a bad window in the end, considering the ridiculous restrictions we’re trying to work to. Really excited by Elliott & Sancho could surprise a few. Still worries me a bit the defence is mostly what Emery inherited tho. And I suspect I’ll be alone here, but in light of the news it was Unai’s

Looks like I’m eating my pants. Genuinely sorry to everyone I insisted the deal for Dibu to Utd must be agreed. I gave him, his professionalism & his attitude towards the club far too much credit.

That wasn’t great. We just don’t look like scoring, final 3rd play is woeful

Whoever I said to the other day that Emery never plays 2 wingers, I apologise. What the f*ck do I know? See ya Emi, not sure there’s a good way to leave, but the loss of the character in the dressing room is as much a loss as the ability.

Jamie Gray @jmgray80.bsky.social · 23/08/2025

That was worryingly terrible. No goals in 2 games isnt the start we hoped for. Hope we’ve got some masterstroke transfers lined up this week, but UE hasn’t helped us with his team selections so far either. Distinct lack of pace & dynamism in the starting team. Some poor individual performances 2 tho

Given the circumstances, against a good team, that’s a good point. Most of us would have taken a point before the game. Red card changes everything, of course, daft from Ezri. Kamara was great filling in tho. Like the new keeper, famous last words, but he was very assured

Hope fans realise the miracles our football management team are performing in getting us to compete & why we’re buying players to sell for a bit of profit. It’ll be harder to get top 7 again this season. So much about modern football I really detest

Good results don’t mean any more than poor results in preseason, but no denying that was a good performance last night. Ollie & JJ are looking sharp & as much as he still frustrates me on the ball, Bailey’s work off the ball has really improved, something Malen still needs to work on when playing RW

Our financial situation is so frustrating, willing owners but completely hamstrung by PSR etc. Our rivals are strengthening, as we approach the season with no significant additions yet. We’ll be competitive, but it’s like boxing with only 1 arm free.

Great 1st half, underwhelming 2nd. But, the win is literally all that matters. Seemed to lose momentum with the changes, rather than be energised. Tom Curry MOTM, absolutely immense #Lions

Given the huge territory & possession dominance last night, England should have won that game a lot more comfortably, however, that’s what inexperience does to a team at that level. There are some huge pluses tho - Joe Heyes has come of age, top class TH now - Tom Willis, beast of a player

Some performance that by the England boys in Argentina last night. 1st half was fearsome defence. 2nd half was lightening quick ball & great, precise attacking play - any chance of keeping Blackett full time as the attack coach?

Every summer since Emery joined ive seen Villa fans whine and complain that villa will get left behind and drop away and every year we keep progressing and getting better and achieving more. Until that stops, I'll trust the process.

Hypothetical question - Grealish return? Yes or no? I’m a bit torn. Tactically I think he’d be excellent on the left in Emery’s system, & despite how City has gone recently, he remains an elite technical footballer. However, this means Ramsey, or even more importantly, Rogers won’t be playing there

Interesting to see how this impacts our transfer activity, cos make no mistake, not getting Champs Lge will have financial ramifications that will have to be addressed via sales

Gutted. Who’d have thought before the game that a drawer would be enough for Champs Lge. A red card & a shocking refereeing decision cost us. Sometimes it’s just not your day. Today didn’t cost us, our form earlier in the season did. Regardless, it’s been a wonderful season again, so many highs

Mission impossible. Poor half, we struggle against wingbacks, but we’ve often been miles better 2nd half too.Terrible by Cash, but that’s absolute madness from Dibu. We need a miracle.
