We didn’t learn anything from Covid. People are already confidently calling the plague a nothingburger. Sure, we have cipro and doxycycline. The obvious concern here is that this strain was modified to be antibiotic resistant or spread more easily. We simply don’t know yet.

IIRC there's a SUPER-narrow window for successfully treating pneumonic plague (like, 72 hr from initial exposure) and Russian GOF research potentially made this window even shorter. Even modified, Yersina is still better as a targeted agent than a general dispersal bioweapon.

There's been no official report on the cause of Simon Andriesz's death. There's no reporting on who is claiming to the media that it was a suicide. There is reporting that he was in a trauma treatment center when he was found dead--which raises questions. Howard Nutlick has more to answer for.
