An image consisting of two panels, the top is a screenshot of Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil 4 with the caption "Where's everyone going? Bingo?" The second panel is a screenshot of the village in RE4 with a picture of Bingo from the cartoon Bluey pasted on top, with the caption "I think they're going to the church, Mr Kennedy!"

Aw man 😞 Rest in peace Mr Cheifet, host of Computer Chronicles: obits.goldsteinsfuneral.com/stewart-chei... What a legend. His work in both presenting and preserving the early days of computer history has been (and will continue to be) deeply appreciated! My condolences to his family and friends.

A Christmas Carol (1951)
Text omitted from image on purpose

Top: Scrooge looks down to yell, "You boy, what day is it?"
Middle: Man looks up and says "Garbage day!"
Bottom: A wounded Scrooge falls from his window while a Wilhelm scream sound effect plays, presumably.

40 Years - 1986 Might and Magic refines the 8-bit Wizardry template to its absolute limit, creating what one might call the definitive old-school RPG series. Very recently, the book Heroes of Might & Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective by Neal Hallford documented the series.

Well, I've now finished the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure. I'm now giving my full endorsement for @stuartgipp.bsky.social to do a Retronauts episode or a thousand on it.

What if the new #Superman movie was made in 1956 instead? Cary Grant as Superman, Yul Brynner as Lex Luthor and a LOT of background work later: we can always fantasize about it
Digital painting created using interlocking fields of color crafted one by one. Lex Luthor (patterned after actor Yul Brynner) sits staring coldly, almost ruefully, out of his window as a reflection up at Superman (patterned after actor Cary Grant) who looks down on him with a cheeky look of castigation, arms crossed, and classic red cape flowing in the wind around him. Behind him the blue-tinged cityscape of Metropolis, pock-marked with bright yellow lights, stretches into the distance, including the famous Daily Planet building complete with its massive metal globe ornament on its skyscraper rooftop under a sky of blue and fluffy clouds of white.

I can't stop thinking about how much fun I had playing the first Might and Magic on C64, and how intimidated I am by the second game. The range of stat growth in that game reminds me of Disgaea, and the possibility of a battle with 255 enemies is crazy.

Well last time I read It Can't Happen Here, and that was chilling. I think this time I'll read Generation of Swine or Songs of the Doomed.
