There's something very wrong with Bluesky that's making me reconsider if I should reluctantly head back to X. Michael Madson and Diogo Jota both died way to young yesterday and this morning tragedy in Texas where insane flooding has killed at least 24 people. Why aren't these stories trending?

Look, I'm an animal lover but FFS is there any way I can filter out the incessant "cutesy" cat and dog photos clogging up my "Discover" timeline? They don't speak so don't caption the photos. They mostly just shit, piss and vomit up whatever wildlife or rubbish they've eaten around the garden.

As a Brit, it’s interesting to see in the replies the disdain for the killing and anger at the private medical companies. A timely reminder for the UK of how lucky we are to have the National Health Service and don’t (currently) have to rely on private health insurance systems.

Just saw Leeds United post (which I’ve liked) they’re now on Bluesky. Nice thing about posting here for commercial entities is they don’t get lost in the fog of detritus X’s algorithms now push. 23k likes in 23 hours is mighty impressive. That’s at least 15k more than actual fans they have.

@jessphillipsmp.bsky.social hi Jess, I know farming isn’t your area but not many ministers on Bluesky and you’re the most sensible of them all anyway. The farming dispute, can’t farm inheritance tax be index linked to production by acreage? The more a farm produces the lower the inheritance tax.
