i learned a cute trick today! you can customize the colors of the terminal and ghost icon for ghostty: macos-icon = custom-style macos-icon-ghost-color = #9c64fe macos-icon-screen-color = #191919

A screenshot of a macOS dock with 3 icons: activity monitor, ghostty, and brave. The ghostty icon has a darker gray terminal and pink ghost rather than the typical dark blue terminal and light blue ghost.

After all these years, this was the first time I've been to Raleigh. I managed to avoid HQ the entire time that I worked at Red Hat. I guess I shouldn't have been that surprised when I recognized Davie St and lo and behold there it was.

We were in the peninsula yesterday, so we stopped by the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch 🎃 in Palo Alto yesterday! It was a local charity event by the public library and a glass blowing studio in SJC.

A collection of glass pumpkins in front of a tree each a shade of orange with a green stem.

A shelf setup with a variety of glass objects: some pumpkins with witches hats, apples, ghosts, and notably a bat hanging from chains.

As someone that normally avoids swag, @posetteconf.com gave out some really good speaker gifts! In general, it's a really well thought out and executed conference! It was a pleasure presenting there.

why doesn't tonic streams implement a futures stream? do i really have to write this myself? 🫠

$a screenshot of a terminal with the following rust code: use std::{ pin::Pin, task::{Context, Poll}, }; use futures::{Stream, StreamExt}; use tonic::{Status, Streaming}; pub struct ResponseStream<T> { pub stream: Streaming<T>, } impl<T> Stream for ResponseStream<T> { type Item = Result<T, Status>; fn poll_next(mut self: Pin<&mut Self>, cx: &mut Context<'_>) -> Poll<Option<Self::Item>> { self.stream.poll_next_unpin(cx) } }$
