For some reason, AI promotional slop is all over the Denver food scene. When I was there last weekend my friends and I passed up eating at a *bunch* of places that otherwise looked promising because the outside was plastered with gross AI pictures of the food.

For further reassurance: There are ~7 cases per year *in the US alone.* Those very, VERY rarely result in deaths, since the disease is treatable with antibiotics (especially if prophylactic treatment begins before symptoms).

It's not a "Russia plague," it's good-ol'-fashioned Yersinia pestis. Already endemic in the US (don't sleep in a room full of prairie dogs, no matter how cute they look). One person died b/c she was studying Y.p. in a lab in a part of Russia where it's also endemic. Literally nothing to worry about.
