@rjrock.bsky.social for the original photo for #postprocess challenge, era shift. I transformed it to a 1972 Polaroid from a Colorado vacation. I went with new rather than making it looks old and of course Mom always labels the photos. Details in ALT #ECK

Created a Polaroid frame, cropped the original photo and played with the color to increase the greens and yellows, made adjustments in curves at either end to flatten a bit, added some noise and blur

@rjrock.bsky.social for the original photo for #postprocess #tonalshift Fairly simple this week, details in ALT, I found some more details, warmed it up after removing the color and then highlighted the action part of the stage with different light

Brought out the details in the shadow, removed the color and then with a duplicate layer warmed it up. Then, erased the top warmer layer to bring out the desaturated under layer to highlight where the action was.

Image from @rjrock.bsky.social for #postprocess challenge for #ghost to Blend the source with a second layer — another exposure of the same scene, a texture, memory of something else. Created a passageway by mirroring with a tall ship and a lighthouse to guide it. Details in ALT #ECK #EastCoastKin

Created a duplicate layer and rotated it horizontally with some fine tuning to blend the layers (still a bit of a line though), added a tall ship by removing the background of the US Baltimore from a 2015 Tall Ships celebration and the Split Rock Lighthouse from Northern Minnesota on Lake Superior

1/3 Important read from AcademyHealth on what's happening to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the federal agency that funds research on how to make health care safer, higher quality, and more effective. Read why its dismantling matters far beyond academic research.

AHRQ Is Being Dismantled and the Consequences Will Reach Every Part of American Health Care

The field has rallied to support AHRQ with letters to Congress and HHS, lawsuits, a GAO investigation, and more.

@rjrock.bsky.social original photo for #postprocess #sculpt with instruction to take what is hard light and sculpt a new view. I chose to highlight the bicyclist by adding blur to anything not the bridge or the bicylist, bringing up the amount of light overall and warming it. More details in ALT

Increased the shadows, warmed the light, sharpened and darkened the bicyclist, darkened some of the rocks to stand out, adding gaussian blur with a mask for everything but bridge and bicycle

Opened in camera raw to fix toning, inverted it, played around a little bit with the levels to make it more balanced, Opened it in Topaz to denoise and sharpen, back to Photoshop to add color and replace the sky.

original post by @rjrock.bsky.social #postprocess #play Given the theme and the color of that building how could I not add flamingos from my trip to Colombia and then some elements from a beach bar and bathers in Puerto Rico? #ECK

Only elements added to the original, nothing otherwise changed: flamingos from Colombia, a sign and license plate display from a bar and from a water hole in El Yunque a woman holding a baby and a man swimming.

@bloodraynes.bsky.social provided the original photo: #postprocess #EmotionShift I thought adding to the grounds, a Pride flag, and a rainbow would lighten the spirit a little. Details in ALT #ECK

In Photoshop, I cropped it down, did a sky replacement with the rainbow and then added some photos from others that I have taken erasing their backgrounds and adjusting their saturation to match the target.

Original photo by #rjrock.bsky.social #surface #postprocess This week I decided that his big piece of rock needed some grass, so got the device out that sprays grass seed on a surface hoping it will take root with some good rain. Details in ALT #ECK

The main change was to select one of the colors in the rock with a shade of green and then make it a bit fuzzy in the sub-settings of that menu, then played around with the levels a bit and brought up the blue in the sky with some dehazing of the raw image.

Inverted (black to white and vice versa) then isolated Mt. Rainier to emphasize the snow, added vignette and made the sky a bit more stormy.
