Today, the Department of Public Works is on Sessions Street installing temporary speed humps. Along with other neighbors, I’m glad to know that traffic will be calmer and that we can cross the street to Sessions Street Park more safely. Thanks for coming out on a Saturday to get this done, DPW!

As a state, we have allowed the utility - an out of state corporation - to basically run our energy policy for too long. Residents & small businesses are struggling with sky rocketing prices, while the utility convinces govt leaders to roll back investments in energy efficiency & clean energy.

IT’S POTHOLE SEASON--HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

If a pothole damages your car under state law, you can be reimbursed up to $300 for repairs. Your car must be registered in Rhode Island to qualify. Here’s what to do:
Document the pothole damage to your tire/vehicle
Document the location of the pothole by noting nearest address
Include a photo of the pothole if possible
Claim must be filed within 7 days
File the claim before repairs happen

State v Local Road?
Determine if you are on a state or local road. State road claims are filed with RIDOT, local road claims with each city or town. See a map of state maintained roads here: www.dot.ri.gov/about/maproom/State_Maintained_Roads.php

Providence Road: File claims with the Providence City Clerk’s Office, (401) 680-5248. More detail here: council.providenceri.gov/clerk-claims
