Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 3hForgot to tag! Doh! #OctopusEnergy Octopus Energy Gas Electricity Tariff 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 3hI'm £300 in credit going into the winter. Octo-nerds, is Tracker still worth considering in this catastrophic Trump-plagued world or should I consider a fixed rate tariff? Monthly comparisons are up in last year as expected but nowhere near 39%. Advice would be welcome please. 100
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 3hCalling all Octopus Energy nerds. In July Octopus wrote to apologise for putting me on Flexible without notifying me at the end of my 12 mths on Tracker. I decided to try Flexible and assess later, but yesterday I got an email saying they were putting my DD up by an eye watering 39%!!! 100
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Oh that's so kind! Thanks Jase. Looking forward to seeing if it works, and if it doesn't then at least I'll have an answer. Glad yours did. 010
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Oh wow, they're brilliant! Memories brought back to life- that's real treasure! May I ask where you sent the film off to please? Lots of my university years are sitting undeveloped in my drawer because I couldn't bear to believe they were too old to produce a hint of an image. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 06/10/2026It's officially Fleet Foxes season. Can feel it in my bones. Cool mists and timeless yearning. Am working in the conservatory feeling connected with my outdoor space and the season. Feels different this year somehow. Less like an end and more of a natural continuation. That's why I love circles. 030
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Hoping that mending my garden is somehow going to mend my soul too - its catastrophic mess has very much reflected my spirit of late. Am starting to document what is intended to be a story of redemption. Garden I've missed you immensely and I look forward to making you into a happy place once again. 050
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 04/10/2026In 2022 my first dog died and his last afternoon was spent in our sunny garden. For that and other reasons I abandoned my beloved garden because it was a heartbreaking place to be. I'm now finally getting stuck in to make it magical again. 6 dumpy bags of rubbish cleared and it feels like soul work 150
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Just found myself on the Saga website browsing ideas for a rockery. Death is nigh. 030

Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Oh and also I think he might be a guy that I haven't seen for a while that used to work in Morrisons and was extra-chatty there too (it's rare that other people are as chatty as me). I thought he looked vaguely familiar and I've just realised why. Really, really hope he's just a nice friendly guy. 010
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Thank you. Am trying to balance caring for my parents full time with some freelance work. Fingers crossed that I can make it balance. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026...so it took him a while to find the bag. The controlled security of the pills (class B) combined with his comment about paying cash makes me sceptical that he forgot that I paid for the pills. It may be nothing (hopefully) but I just wanted this documented as my Spidey senses are twitching. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Anyway, I guess pharmacies get contact details from GPs without your knowledge, but I also guess this includes an address. Something about the guy feels a bit off, so I'm just leaving this here for future reference. My prescription was for ADHD meds which I think need to be stored securely... 100
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Anyway, I paid cash and he remarked that this was unusual and made a comment about the 10p change weighing me down. I then got a phone call from him a couple of hours later saying I hadn't ticked the reason for payment exemption box and I reminded him that I paid cash so wasn't exempt. 100
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Just a word on a niggling concern in the back of my mind: I was served by a new guy at the chemist while picking up my prescription. There was friendly banter, possibly a tiny bit more friendly than usual chat, but everyone's a bit different and he seemed nice and I'm quite chatty in shops 100
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I submitted my first draft of a freelance job I was worried about, and just like that my earworm turned to Bowie's Starman like someone changed the radio station. Earworms can definitely be stress and trauma related. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I keep thinking about Christa Pike and honestly don't know whether I'm hoping that she lives just to spite the messed up US 'judicial' system or dies to finally stop the carnival of relentless suffering that has been her entire life. Life programmed her to murder. It's those factors that need fixing 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I had no idea. It's in a happy part of my brain, filed alongside Terry Wogan's breakfast show, sunshine, teddy bears and the taste of Farley's rusks. 020
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 03/10/2026And just like that I'm craving the pickled onion and roast beef flavours like one of Pavlov's dogs. 020
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Depends on the occasion. Maybe boots for the Underground?!Definitely 10/10 though. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Big fan of the whole green ensemble. Would totally wear. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 01/10/2026'See, if I was in your blood then you wouldn't be so ugly.' [Ensuing minor chords really driving home the brutal coldness of the sentiment] Oof! 040
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Help me!!! I've had the That's Life Theme tune loudly on repeat in my head for the last 24 hrs! Suspect it's a stress response linked to a freelance work deadline of 9am tomorrow. God I hope it's that because at least there's a cutoff point. 🤞🤞🤞Make it stop! 🔇🙉 030
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I mean, this is the Guardian, but you pretty much called it. 163
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I've just been reading about her case, the multiple abuses she suffered growing up and all of those years in solitary confinement. Her entire existence has been about pain and betrayal. I wonder if she ever knew kindness? Damaged people pass on that damage. Just awful. 030

Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026When I was little I had a fear of clocks and time and theme tunes that signified it was late /bedtime such as That's Life. Feeling a wave of existential unease at the news about Esther Rantzen. Let's enjoy ourselves my Gen X friends, it's later than we think. Oof. 🕛 010
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Really did. I always think of Ben Hardwick l, but then also the badly taxidermied cat. 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Agreed. I also have been on the organ donor register for all of my adult life thanks to That's Life and I also understood the importance of having a carbon monoxide detector. Not bad for a programme that campaigned to Get Britain Singing. Aww. 120
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026What I love about the Met Office is its propensity to be consistently utterly wrong about absolutely everything all of the time. Love 'em. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 29/09/2026And now you've just reminded me that I have some in the freezer! Thank you. 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I braved the Swindon magic roundabout twice to visit Halfords where the guy reassured me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car battery despite the light being on. Total electrical failure then occurred on a busy dual carriageway just outside of Oxford. Go Swindon! 001
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Yes, like people who visit historic Google Maps because the front door was open and grandma's car was parked on the drive, meaning she was home. It took me at least a week to clear away my old dog's water bowl that he wasn't coming back to. Things are just very different when you're grieving. 0210
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I'm 51 and haven't believed there'd be a state pension left for me to claim for years. 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Burnham's still in his messiah phase. They're dangling the dualling of the A1 in Northumberland yet again amid another summer of deaths and casualties, but it'll never happen. I am so very done with politicians. All of them. 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 28/09/2026After turning 51 earlier this month I can confirm that today was the day I finally aged out of getting help from the lads at the tip. Luckily I got help from a fellow conifer clipper in a show of sore-armed solidarity. Armed with an array of kettlebells, I've now entered my badass crone season. 060
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 27/09/2026What? No! I need to cut my conifers before the frost! 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 27/09/2026The idea that you are already in the car at half past eight on a Sunday morning when you're not at work is wild to me. 110
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Look at him. Eloquent, informed, logical, calmly assertive, principled and humane. Very impressive. The world desperately needs more people with these qualities in leadership roles. 0132
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Also the synergy of exercise, a strong diet & supplement game and regular biostimulant injections along the lines of Sculptra and Profhilo. Oh and he's still interested in life. Must be good to be Tom. 120
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 26/09/2026That's why I stopped paying for a licence and no longer watch live TV at home. I value other BBC output, but there is no way to support that without paying for their bigot-promoting news and current affairs dept, and I flatly refuse to do that. It's not like they listen to complaints. 120
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The light on my fish tank has an app. It won't work without connecting via Bluetooth. 010
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The Crown is in no way, shape or form better than Schitt's Creek! Nope! 000
Jill Chambers @jillchambers.bsky.social · 25/09/2026There but for the grace of god go I. The horror! Delete, delete, delete!!!! Feeling grateful that I always had that one last check before posting, even if I was slow at my job. 110
