While they were searching a dungeon my players found a super sketchy alchemist doing unethical research on goblins. Of course they offered him a job in their town and he became their favourite collaborator even though he was clearly incredibly evil.

I always have this strange feeling whenever the media I’m listening to mentions eastern Canada in any way. It’s so rare it causes kind of a confused danger alert response.

Station to Station is so good it’s literally changing how I thought my opinions stood about relationships in games. I am so against relationships as a gamified prize that I didn’t think I enjoyed romance in any game. It turns out it’s just very rare because it’s rarely done in a way I like!

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

I got to go to Bouctouche in northern New Brunswick over the weekend. It reminded me of home in the best way. I am such a sucker for a boardwalk and a quiet shoreline.

A boardwalk at the dunes de bouctouche eco-centre in New Brunswick. On the right side is the beach and water. To the right of the boardwalk is the long grass growing in the sand. In the distance at the end of the boardwalk there are buildings, one of them is a viewing tower and another is an interpretive centre.

I finally got around to beating Final Fantasy X and I think I understand the people who love this game now. I have so many thoughts about the sometimes truly bizarre choices throughout this game. The highs are very high and I can see why it made the impact it did.

I have a better one for me actually, Outer Wilds. I have enormous respect for its design but it felt so tedious to me. Time loop mechanics take me out so quick because it feel like my time isn’t being respected. The only part that I think succeeded with me was the sound design.

J Jonah Jameson is talking to a transitioning p. parker in his office, saying "PARKER!! Didn't you start transitioning around the same time as that WEB HEAD!?" with Parker nervously responding "Oh, yeah ... I noticed early on, talking all the photos... and it gave me the courage to start-"

In the second panel, JJ is cutting her off saying "WHAT A SHAME! We need better representation if that MENACE is all we have to inspire young women like you!" And Parker in the back saying "Umm... thanks?" #meme #spiderman #trans #fanart

I really like that having Barret around for the gold saucer story kept telling the player the cost of playing around. In an Assassin’s Creed game they tell you you need to get your revenge plot done now but also give you dumb side quests galore.

It’s a great game and I think the writing and QTE gameplay is really well implemented to keep the tension high. I really liked their Game of Thrones game which I think was even more traumatic but I was ok with it because there’s always a potential light at the end of the tunnel.

Telltale Walking Dead. I think it did a perfect job of replicating the slow inevitable failure of every character that the show and comic are based on but I just don’t want that. I finished season one and had no interest in continuing. I just don’t care about hopeless trauma stories.

The expanded runtime really opened it up to more cruft and weird story changes. Them being shackled to setting decisions made in the psp game and phone game weakened the story for me too.
