That's interesting. I'm not a public sector worker I'm a member of the public And if I was inconvenienced today, so be it, I can go again tomorrow I support the workers seeking better conditions and wages Also I wasn't inconvenienced today. But every paycheck, my *temporary USC inconveniences me

Bit of positive news to start the week: the online voter registration system voter.ie is now live nationwide (having previously worked only for Dubliners) - now anyone in the State can register or update their details on the electoral register in a couple of minutes using only their PPS number.

#Booksky A very enjoyable read, full of threads of hope and happiness. Some small sadness to balance. Really loved reading it.

Allow grief to flow. The one thing to hold onto is self. Just give yourself time, for you. Be kind to yourself. Everything is normal.

Older to left / Newer to right. But also, as in most user graphics, just the arrows would be as or more appropriate. No need to script words when the symbols work

Today is Michaelmas, a quarter day in the Irish calendar, and traditionally when rents were paid & contracts signed. It's also the last day to eat blackberries - after today, they belong to the Devil and will make you sick!

I wouldn't stoop to that myself. But if was to have an opportunity, the question I would ask every one of them is, Where's Gavin ? Petty, yeah, but just let them absorb their own silence.

A close-up, top-down shot of a brilliant blue male Blue-fronted Dancer Damselfly resting on a textured, light tan rock surface in the afternoon light. The insect has a slender, vibrant blue body with distinct black markings along its segments, clear translucent wings folded over its back, and large dark compound eyes. The final segments at the tip of its tail are a bright, solid electric blue.

#FAI "The Irish team will wear black armbands" I'm old enough to remember Black Armbands, and it in support of Hunger strikers. Meanwhile, the game goes ahead. Black armbands be fucked, you step onto that pitch, you support Genocide, not the lives of Palestinians. They should wear yellow.

#FAI With the developing news and not knowing how it will play out. My wish is For the Irish team to say NO to playing Israel. Somebody has to say NO to any regime currently committing Genocide. And we know the FAI or UEFA won't say IT. NO to Israel.

50 years ago today, four teenagers came together in Dublin and began a journey none of them could have imagined. It started in 1977, at Mount Temple Comprehensive School where U2 formed their band. Today, the lads came back to where it all started. I have seen U2 in concert so many times.

A Scottish colleague and I were on a work trip in the US. Working over a machine, we were in full-flight banter mode, just to look up and see a large group of US colleagues agape, some ready to intervene thinking we were about to kick off into murdering each other. No sense amongst the lot of them

It's not all that benign. Like most of our 'language' it's the tone and delivery which turns the friendly banter to vengeful spite... All our foul words have that same double faced yet friendly menace...

Bona-Fides, Kips and Early-Houses
If you knew where to go, it was possible to drink around the clock in 1930s, 1940s and 1950s Dublin. When regular pubs closed at 11pm, still-thirsty revelers could travel to ‘bona-fide’…

Right so #TraitorsIRL I have 2 theories; a) The faithful know exactly who the 2 traitors are, but won't kill, because they'd only be replaced by an unknown b)They haven't a clue Yep, that works. Definitely that.... #speirgorm / #spéirghorm
