Oh this is interesting! I'm too old for Goosebumps to have registered, some of them have been translated into Finnish and Swedish, but only post 2000 it seems. 35 Finnish translations according to Wikipedia.

Just jumping into the thread to mention that Fanny was/is a fairly common name in Finland/Sweden, also used for a much-loved 1990s chocolate dessert that briefly was reintroduced in 2018. Do with this knowledge what you will.

another thing is at least that the requirements for vehicular use (total charge, energy density) are high compared to other uses, so cells that are done for as car batteries can have a significant later life as utility storage. Remember a Dutch example of Leaf batteries used in a solar installation.

Also, lots of people are pointing to their anecdotal experience that "Russian troll" posts have declined. So far, I have seen no quantitative evidence anywhere yet. (My personal view is that there are far fewer "Russian troll bots" than people claim - most are just real people or spam bots.)

I suppose the theoretical reclaim rate for the ebike components should be very high – because the number of battery cells required is a tiny fraction compared to other vehicular uses, you could see that manufacturing running on recycled car components.

oh, this reminded me of a book (?) of cross-stitch model patterns that was in the design school library maybe. Or a website with them. Can’t find examples but the Finnish national archives have a bunch of these ”merkkausliina”. They were a kind of unofficial graduation work for future housewives 😅

I’m absolutely a subscriber to the theory that they in fact all are the same language except Icelandic which is just a bit outside mutual intelligibility (also this is partly because of the deliberate effort to create own neologisms rather than using loanwords)

Finland Swedish combines the flat intonation thing with a more Danish/Dutch-like directness, which can lead to, uh, misunderstandings with Finns. Something that has taken a while to realize.
