Handed the keys back to my old place today… spent a long time in this house! I was a mid-twenties DJ when I moved in with my then gf. I got married and divorced while there, was single/dating there, locked down during a pandemic there and met Liz while there.

I haven’t read enough books yet this year, mostly due to the business that comes with moving house and preparing for a baby, along with doing a degree and working 60 hours a week. Station Eleven was outstanding though and now I’m so excited to get started with Alexander Freed’s The Mask of Fear.

Oooh I think I’m going to be ill soon… I feel fine at the moment, other than being very tired from going non-stop for the last month or so, but the lymph node in my neck is a bit swollen and my tattoos are a bit raised in places, both signs that my body is fighting off an infection.

We bought a new sofa yesterday, neither of us ever had before, just always had hand-me-downs or bought secondhand. Those fuckers are expensive, but the wait time is what’s worse. As long as there’s no delays it should be delivered the week before the kid is due!

Civil War is Children of Men crossed with Monsters divided by Black Hawk Down. It may not be as good as any of those films but I enjoyed(?) it. Enjoyed might be the wrong word, it’s fucking harrowing as an outsider looking in because, like CoM it feels like it could be only a few years from reality.
