Trump often calls them fake news & they really do act Fake. They push back more on democratic administrations & democratic officials than they do republicans. They criticized Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan more than they criticized trump's deals with the taliban & his debacle of a war in Iran.

America can be very shallow. They like electing presidents that have some personality, stature, & a telegenic nature about them. Sen. Kelly is about 5'8, so he'll likely appear short on a debate stage with others, and he isn't the most visually "attractive". He's brilliant, but it may not be enough.

My biggest concern about TX polling is that Paxton is such a public stain that there may be some shy Pax voters who will not publicly acknowledge any support for him while privately voting for him.

I would say that you actually have a point here, and it really highlights how well President Obama was able to shepherd us out of that recession and build a more stable economy that wouldn't be as susceptible to such a catastrophic collapse nearly two decades later.

It's rather interesting that one New York Times poll comes out (after being taken practically entirely before her scandal) having Collins up within the margin of error & people changed the rating of that race. However, on the same day 2 other polls had Jackson leading outside of the margin of error.

This poll made news because it was the 1st one to drop yesterday, however 2 reputable polls were released shortly thereafter with Jackson up (outside the margin of error), but it got very little play in the media because they wanted to push a narrative of the resilience of Collins.

3 polls released for Maine. 2 show a Jackson lead. The only one that made news & got coverage was the ONE showing Collins under 50%, leading within the margin of error.
