And note that Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint Barthélemy, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon are not generally considered part of Latin America, even though they are French-speaking. That might answer your question about French Canadians.

Reading the fine print (“allowing … to issue citations for drivers who park in a bike lane longer than 10 minutes”) this doesn’t seem like a “BIKE WIN” for bike lane users; it’s formalizing and legalizing the “I’ll just be a minute” free pass for bike lane parking that’s a scourge on us all. Nope. 👎

Today, I discovered that my two year old contribution is partially implemented in MySQL for more than a year. Oracle did that silently, without closing my report, and without mentioning it in the release notes. I have mixed feelings about this. bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=1...

The second example is Bug 120465, which was fixed in 9.7.2 and 26.7.0, with the notes only mentioning this since August 13. Also this bug looks like it is still affecting 8.4.11, so again, Oracle is not fixing all supported versions. 3 of 3 bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=1...

The first example is Bug 120403, which was fixed in #MySQL 8.4.11, 9.7.2 and 26.7.0 (released 2026-07-28), but the original release notes not mentioning this fix (they were updated on August 12). 2 of 3 bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=1...

There is a new quality problem in Oracle/MySQL. In addition to not fixing bugs in all supported versions (a problem I mentioned many times in the past), bugs are now fixed but not mentioned in the Release Notes. I have two examples of this. 1 of 3

Bring them on a bike ride on the trail. Just give them a road bike, while you are using a fat-bike ! Seriously, all Civil Engineers involved in cycling infrastructure should ride a bike once in a while. And cyclist associations should organize rides for them to show good and bad infra.

Another complexity is memory consumption accounting, which would not only be at the connection level, but also at the global level. There are also solutions of this, but I am not sure the increased complexity would be worth it. 7 of 7

However, it does not mean that prepared statements need to be managed at the connection level by the database server, they could be managed at the global level. This would optimize memory usage, but at the cost of implementation and runtime complexities. 5 of N
