Went incognito in the back with my blue OKC Thunder playoff shirt and Pride wristbands to watch my kid’s band for a Fox News thing and not be embarrassing. (My kid said not to bring a protest sign.) Then a guy told me to hold a flag. Here’s to supporting my LGBTQ+ friends in the armed forces!

I tried to stay in the back, but the guy in charge thought I should hold a flag along with my husband. Husband got the U.S. Army flag, another guy got the OU flag that my husband picked up for me. Husband thought the last flag was OSU and I’d probably rather hold the OU flag, but it was actually a Space Force flag. I have no ties to OU so I let the other guy take it and I went to get the Space Force flag. So much for being unassuming but then again everyone had to see my Pride wristbands holding my flag. Winning!

One was in the Philippines during WWII, met my grandmother when they went to college, and he became a metallurgist. She graduated with a home ec degree and worked for the county. The other learned Japanese and was an interpreter in WWII and became a nuclear physicist. My grandma was a doctor.

Yesterday I was at the Oklahoma capitol for a protest and then an opportunity to go in to see my state reps offices. My house reps office was all attending the state of the state address but I was able to meet my senator’s assistant. Step 1: Establishing relationships. Need to act locally.

Attended a protest in Edmond, OK. Lots of honks, waves, 👍. Also lots of 👎 and 🖕and “fuck you!s” So many old men and women angrily flipping us off, lots of younger people too. The head shaking from the Edmond cop as he drove by was sad. As was the 12yo girl giving a 👎 out the window like her dad. 🙄

I was out of town for the two NBA Cup games over Thanksgiving. Finally here for tonight’s Cup game and court. 🌩️🆙

Native American Heritage Night and our new city court. I like it. 🌩️🆙

The new City Court for the OKC Thunder. The court is divided diagonally with a pointed tooth like pattern dividing a super light wood colored floor from a honey colored wood floor. OKC in the middle is in the old Native Thunder blocky font from 2018. White letters outlined in dark blue and then orange. The paint and surrounding the floor is all a dark blue. There are orange state of Oklahoma shapes in the upper right and lower left corners. The striping on the court is turquoise. Each end says “Oklahoma City Thunder” in orange. The Jumbotron says “Oklahoma has the largest percentage of Native American residents of any state in the U.S.”
