A past client has clearly just deleted or changed permissions for their old project files on Google Drive, resulting in a bunch of documents I created for them and still own floating unsorted to the top of my Drive. One is just a folder named "War Crimes" 😅

Really happy that folks are enjoying Nighthawks. Now that it’s out, I have been focused on getting back to Gilt and trying to make something really special out of it.
A pilgrim reaches out to touch a wall of energy among a crowd of hollow-eyed idols.A pilgrim prays among glowing fungi.A pilgrim stands among decaying steel ribs, examining the road before him.A pilgrim stands facing a giant, glowing mantis in a cave.

A digital illustration in a pencil and watercolor mode. Showing Patrick McGoohan as Number Six in the classic outfit of a black blazer with white piping over a navy turtleneck and khaki pants. He is plodding quite angrily up a cobblestone path being herded along by Rover which is a big, white, wobbly balloon that provides security and enforces the rules in The Village which is where #6 is trapped. Some buildings and landscaping of The Village can be seen in the background. In the immediate foreground on the right is a signpost — a black and white striped pole topped with a little striped awning thing in an L shape with a vertical arrangement of four individual placards hanging down from it. The placards, in the distinctive typeface used in all Village design, read ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

Text: The Well-Edited Game: How Professional Editing Elevates Our Medium
Jess Haskins, Marissa Koors
Editing is an integral part of the creative process in traditional media. But in games, editorial responsibilities are scattered across disciplines or skipped altogether. What do game editors actually do? Are editors only for narrative games? How does editing interact with other aspects of production? What should you consider before working with an editor? We’ll demystify the editorial process and make the case for including editors in every game’s development. We’ll break down the different types of editing, highlight successful interventions from past projects, and share why we believe 2026 is the year of the game editor.

"But I can't afford to hire an editor!" Unfunded indie? We love those! Ask about sliding-scale discounts. Got a publisher? This one's big: budget and negotiate for editing funds alongside other finishing services like VO, loc, QA, and marketing. (All things editing can make more effective, btw!)

Yeah, and that distinctive energy is "DOOM" 😈 I love the art and symbolism in the Thoth deck. But I do find the one-word labels for the minor arcana kind of flatten the meaning, usually toward the most negative aspect. Crowley was a bit of a downer, eh?

A hand-shaped stand holds the 7 of cups tarot card from the Crowley Thoth deck, titled Debauch, in front of a vase of pink and yellow tulips with drooping stems. The card depicts a lotus rising out of swampy water with seven pale pink flowers drooping over seven cups filled with dripping slime.
