I remember when THREE BILLBOARDS premiered at TIFF everyone fell all over themselves but by the time it opened a few weeks later the backlash had begun (it still won Oscars but I don’t think it broke too many hearts that it didn’t win Best Picture)

DIGGER is a reminder that some movies need to sit in your mind for a while. I remember when THE ZONE OF INTEREST opened I saw some immediate takes come out that were ambivalent.... and I think a lot of those people came around later
