@footballweekly.bsky.social Spare a thought for Holland's longest serving national coach Bob Glendenning. His 87 matches in charge still stands as a record. He would have served longer had WW2 not caused him to flee to England in 1940.

Enjoyed an excellent Sauna session at The Hot Rocks Sauna outside Belfast on my birthday today. Quite astonishing that the textile free session is the busiest hour of the day. Northern Ireland isn't as narrow minded as you might think! Go us!

Being the closest lighthouse to where I grew up (Omeath, Co. Louth), I’m very partial to Haulbowline Lighthouse. I have so many photos of it and some very special ones. August 2022 will always be my favourite of this lighthouse at moonrise but this comes a close second.

📍 Greenore, Co. Louth, Ireland 🗓️ 24 Jan 2026 Wild and wonderful at Greenore this morning. Ceol na Mara bobbed up and down on a choppy Carlingford Lough. It was low tide, but there was no shortage of wave action. Lots of cloud, no sun but a bit of bright light on the horizon.

Golden sunset behind Mussenden Temple, its circular stone structure and blue-grey dome silhouetted on a grassy clifftop. The sun sits low over the Atlantic Ocean, sending dramatic golden rays through scattered clouds, illuminating the sky in warm yellows and amber tones, with distant coastline visible along the horizon and a calm sea reflecting the fading light.

One of my most enjoyable events of 2025 was to attend a textile free sauna session at the excellent Hot Rocks Sauna here in Northern Ireland with stunning views over Lough Neagh during summer. Not something I do often but glad you can experience it here. If in NI, please look up The Hot Rocks Sauna.

Mit Unruhe nimmt man jeden Morgen die Zeitung zur Hand, mit einem Seufzer der Erleichterung legt man sie nieder, wenn nichts besonders Gefährliches sich ereignet hat, nur manchmal glaubt man die schwarzen Schwingen des drohenden Kriegs über seinem Schlafe rauschen zu hören.überall schliessen sich die Grenzen ängstlich ab, Tag und Nacht arbeiten in Europa die Fabriken, um die grossartigsten und genialsten Instrumente der Zerstörung zu schaffen;

This is an interesting series of claims. Just a couple of (minor, technical) points why it's wrong 😊 1/
What neither the government nor the EU has mentioned is what will happen regarding EU Regulation 2017/625. This is the EU law that effectively decrees NI as EU territory and GB as foreign territory and requires all goods travelling from GB to be subject to EU checks. Will it be abrogated? I doubt it.
