^ sorry, I meant 2014 (not 2004). sorry, I lose track of years. I'm sorry. I forget when I had that tooth infection and experienced physical pain FOR REAL, in a way I didn't understand could happen. I thought mammals would faint please. There is no God to save you. GOD doesn't love mammals.

sorry. the root canal itself was easy-breezy. it was that long "holiday weekend" leading up to it. I hope nobody experiences this. It really makes one wonder. For me, that long weekend made me an atheist, as no god would let a mammal experience this without fainting.

same here. I wasn't raised in a state like MA, but I was raised in a home with open eyes to moral failings by the US. My senior parents continue to fight the good fight. and build. My parents are amazing. It's CRUSHING to me they'll likely die during this regime. all I feel is grief. 💔

I get that news outlets probably won't print the word "regime." But at least they could say, "Trump administration." right? That would be a baby-step in the right direction. At least prompt readers to recognize this is not just a sole Orange Clown, but a GROUP of administrators. Who are they?

Donald can barely find his way to the bathroom in time, and often doesn't. I think at a certain point, the people making these (absurd, violent, horrific) decisions will be named. But until then, maybe at least news can say "Trump regime" did this that or the other.

If you've been to an ER or doctor's waiting room lately, you know that half the people are sniffling and the other half are sitting nearby someone who's sniffling. Why aren't well-fitted masks simply required in ALL HEALTH CARE FACILITIES??!! Arrrrghhh!! (I warned you I'm a grump.)

From the figure legend, "Day 0 denotes the day the measles rash appears; Day -4 is the probable start of infectiousness, Day 4 is the probable end of infectiousness."

While this graph has a ton of valuable information, the main point of this post is that infectiousness often peaks days before a rash appears. That is, viral load in a patient (shown in the pink line, MeV viremia) peaks some days before a rash typically appears.

hmm. call me a stickler, call me a grump, but I kind of wish they'd listed "runny nose" and "cough" at the TOP of this list of symptoms, as that's when people with measles are the most contagious. Some days before a rash develops.

Yes, I think "member" prices at the pharmacy may be slightly lower, but even non-member prices are often very competitive. Before getting a membership, I used their pharmacy for my dog's heart medication, and it was much cheaper than other places. Anyway, worth checking if one is price-comparing.

yes, Wegmans 🧡 I have to deliberately restrain my pack-rat tendencies when shopping at Costco. I initially got a card because I needed an appliance and they had a good price on it. Also, just FYI, one does not need a membership to use their pharmacy for prescriptions (people or pets) or vaccines.

excellent article!! I've always felt self-conscious about my deep attachment to Costco. E.g., what do I, as a single person, need with a palate of canned tomatoes or a half gallon of hummus? 😅 The prices are fair, incl at pharmacy. And they also treat their workers MUCH better than Sam's club.

Look, I’ve been around the block. I know what it means when a feature of my life is suddenly appended with words like -coded and -core. It means the things about myself that I can’t or don’t want to change are being sold back to me as a lifestyle choice, or worse, a movement. It means I’ve become real in the realest way possible: in the eyes of marketers and assignment editors running on fumes.

I knew what the dad-bod trendlet amounted to. As with nerdcore, the hard sound of the last part did not cancel out the dweebness of the first. It was a cheap attempt to aestheticize the mundane, to apply a layer of hip gloss on the utility of nobler, truer, Britisher words like paunchy. Which is to say, I know my role. It’s to tell you that Costco is real.
