Apple Launches Creative Labs Program With The King's Trust
Apple is partnering with UK charity The King's Trust to launch a new education program that will help young people build careers in creative industries, Apple said today. The Apple x King's Trust Creative Labs will give people aged 18 to 30 the opportunity to work with Apple experts as they look into different career paths. An initial cohort of up to 20 people is participating in specialized workshops to learn "valuable, industry-aligned skills using Apple technologies." The educational experience started this week with music industry and creative workshops timed to the opening of Apple Music Hall at Battersea Power Station in London. Apple chairman Tim Cook and King Charles III visited Apple Music Hall to meet with attendees. More cohorts and more sessions will follow over the next year. Apple has worked with The King's Trust since 2019, expanding access to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics programming to schools across the UK. Apple says it is also working with The King's Trust on resources that will build AI literacy, creativity, and agency among educators and young people.Tag: United Kingdom This article, "Apple Launches Creative Labs Program With The King's Trust" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

Court document with case title: Democratic National Committee vs. Donald J. Trump, The White House Office, Office of Management and Budget, and U.S. Department of Homeland Security, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. On this week's episode of In Your Spare Time, Amanda Nelson—historian and host of Amanda's Mild Takes—reads Ursula's June 2011 post "Against Eisenhower." "I have felt for a long time that Eisenhower’s election (in 1952, defeating Adlai Stevenson in a landslide) was a cross-roads," Ursula writes.

BREAKING: In a win for Georgia voters, a state court dismissed a Republican lawsuit seeking to limit where mail-in ballots can be returned in Gwinnett County. The ruling preserves an additional way for voters in Georgia's second-most populous county to return their ballots before the midterms.
In the document, the heading reads "In the Superior Court of Gwinnett County State of Georgia." It involves the Republican National Committee, Gwinnett County Republican Party, and Tim Fleming as plaintiffs, and David Hancock and others as defendants, along with DSCC and Jon Ossoff for Senate as intervenors. The text is an order denying a motion for an interlocutory injunction and granting motions to dismiss. The document outlines the case concerning absentee ballot applications. The filing includes official stamps and electronic file marks.

#OTD in 2006, Anna Politkovskaya--Russian investigative journalist & human rights defender--was murdered in her apt building in Moscow. #PressFreedom She exposed state corruption, opposed the Chechen conflict & wrote "Putin's Russia," a book critical of his rise to power & authoritarian shift.
A serious portrait-style photograph of Russian journalist, author, and human rights activist Anna Politkovskaya (August 30, 1958 – October 7, 2006). Globally revered for her fearless exposure of human rights abuses in Chechnya and her staunch criticism of Vladimir Putin, she looks slightly off-camera with a solemn, resolute, and deeply contemplative expression. Her face is framed by her signature silver-gray hair, parted down the middle and tucked behind her ears, revealing long, slender gold bar earrings. She wears oval, wire-rimmed gold glasses and a crisp, white collared shirt that stands out sharply against the composition. She is in the right two-thirds of the frame, balanced by a soft-focused, bright outdoor background of green and white bokeh on the left. The lighting is soft and even, highlighting her focused gaze. The overall mood is serious, reflective, and dignified, serving as a powerful visual testament to her legacy as a champion of press freedom who paid the ultimate price for her investigative work.
