I already loathe the diesel rebate as an enormous fucking grift of a tax expenditure, it's a policy that needs to die, and it didn't occur to me that it would also apply to datacentre backup generators. Fucking hell that's absurd. au.news.yahoo.com/call-to-end-...

40% of *everything being shipped everywhere on Earth* is fossil fuels Just an absolute laughing-stock clown-show of an energy source. This is laughably absurd, why do we treat this like it's normal and good Fossil fuels are a satirical fuel www.irena.org/-/media/File...
Global shipping transports fossil fuels and runs on oil: 40% of shipped products are fossil fuels or derivatives, while 99% of international shipping’s energy demand is met by oil-based fuels.

Three weeks out from her election Trump has sent Federal agents in to raid US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. This is part of his attack on migrants, especially Somali migrants. We need to resist this racist authoritarian politics wherever it rises. Wrong in the US, wrong here too.

Absolutely. 100% clean energy economy will reduce the need for all kinds of construction & machines, thus massively shrink the total fossil/mining footprint. Then there's banks: JP Morgan & Citi the biggest lenders to new coal, oil & gas projects. What % of their profits come from burning us to hell?

Finkel has embarrassed himself with this intervention. The judgement itself is straight statutory interpretation. The High Court hasn’t imposed anything other than what the NSW planning laws require. He also clearly hasn’t read the judgement or familiarised himself with the case history.

Extraordinary attack from ABC management against the most senior elected union representative at the ABC - Labor should be speaking out against threats by ABC management against Michael Slezak and the MEAA. Critical thinking, critical writing, should never be weaponised against staff at the ABC.

The ABC’s new head of news Simon Robinson is staring down the barrel of a staff revolt just four weeks after joining the public broadcaster, with its union committee labelling a threat of disciplinary action against a senior journalist an attack on press freedom.

The ABC’s Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance house committee called an urgent meeting for its members on Monday after Michael Slezak, who is also the federal president of media at the union, was threatened with disciplinary action over a piece he wrote in The Australian Financial Review.

Unexpected? The energy is FREE! Once the solar, battery & EVs are built, zero mining, offshore oil drilling, refineries, pipelines, oil tankers or trucks are needed for endless energy. 100% RE & EVs means no need to bomb people to steal their sun, nor for #Auspol to grovel to the 🤑🤡🇺🇸 Oil Empire.
