Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 14/07/2026The Atlantis reveal at Kennedy Space Center got me. Doors open, and the shuttle is hanging there at eye level, mere feet away. I started crying and couldn't stop. As I tried to soak in the enormity of it, all I could think was how small my own thinking is. 110

Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 14/06/2025The new AI automix feature in iOS 26 Music is pretty legit overall. It has made some seamless mixes across genres that have blown my mind. 030
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 03/06/2025I know how spoiled that sounds, but that’s a real consideration for a company that wants their product to overthrow the old browsers. Of course, that’s also on Apple for setting up roadblocks to their core features. 000
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 03/06/2025I fell in love with Arc right away. But there was one thing that quickly took it out of my daily routine: lack of direct TouchID integration on Mac. Sometimes I could use it, but usually I had to scan a QR code to log into a service, and that’s too disruptive when it happens 10-20x per day. 130

Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 25/05/2025Recently I learned that Sir Mix-A-Lot was/is into CB. I heard someone on CB use the term "cotton picker" which made me think of the song Buttermilk Biscuits. Of course, I'm now listening to Swass and it is chock full of CB slang. 110

Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 25/05/2025This afternoon was bittersweet. I put my Scout uniforms back into the back of the closet with Robin's weeding dress. You know... closet deep storage. Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 20/05/2025I just realized that all this fiddling with learning the art of AI prompting that I've been doing has made me MUCH better at clear communication and asking specifically for what I want. Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 20/05/2025This expands on my skeets from earlier. From Oklahoma tornado sirens to KC scanner traffic, I've gone from watching and worrying to wondering what it would be like to participate. I'm ready to be a radio dork. I've been practicing my callsign in the car. 📻⚡ #AmateurRadio #SKYWARN #WeatherNet #KC 000
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 20/05/2025I realized tonight I can't make fun of emergency weather ham radio operators anymore when I'm clearly just as invested in their world. Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 19/05/2025I can't take credit for the LARP joke. I read it earlier today on a reddit post: www.reddit.com/r/amateurrad...reddit.comAmateur Radio Emergency Preparedness Act Re-Introduced 000
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 19/05/2025But I'm looking at the Skywarn training available online through U of Ark. These guys sound like dorks. But I'm listening to them. Regularly. Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 19/05/2025Having grown up in rural Oklahoma, I had always dreamed of being a storm spotter, even though I used to get physically sick when a tornado warning came on TV. I still am interested in the "seedier" side of radio... CB, pirate, and drunk rants floating through the atmosphere. 100
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 19/05/2025And, to be fair, there are some folks totally LARPing first responders* on there. But when the emergency weather net is in action and the storm spotters are zooming around the city giving wind readings and hail measurements, it doesn't sound as dorky. 100
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 19/05/2025The net controller doesn't need to hear more than a mumbled callsign to know who is giving a report. They've also learned through the dorky check-ins where people are from, so that doesn't need to be said, either. If you listen in from the outside, the weekly check-in (practice) sounds so dumb. 100
Jeremy Fuksa @jeremyfuksa.com · 19/05/2025Storms are rolling through Kansas City right now. I've got my scanner on, listening to the emergency weather nets. I have always thought check-in nets sounded so dorky, but now I understand why they do it. It's to be able to recognize people by voice so folks don't have to say so much. 210
