📖 "And he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher and departed." - Matthew 27:60 🪨 Just in case you ever wondered how this might've looked (here the Roman era rock tombs in Urfa's Haleplibahçe neighbourhood).

How about a new series "Museum pieces and where they're coming from"? 🏛️🏺 This time: The only female depiction from early #Neolithic #Göbeklitepe (so far) in Urfa's archaeological #museum … and the flagstone bench in the so-called Lions Pillar Building at the site.

Kristina's Live Science article here has inspired a lot of "spin-offs" - and while its great of course to see #archaeology news spread, it'll never not puzzle me why some of those sites have to go with absurd #AISlop visuals while perfectly fine photos of the real thing are available. 🤨🙄

One of the observation bunkers at the coast near #Søndervig in #Denmark in its surreal simplicity pictures a particularly shocking dark episode: In 1995 a local artist added these murals in one of the inner chamber - retelling the terrors of the #holocaust with naive stickmen.
Another page from the travel journal documenting image on four walls (southern, western, eastern, and northern wall): the holocaust (invasion, fighting, concentration camps, and mass graved) retold with stickmen.

While these concrete #bunkers of course indeed date back to the German occupation of #Denmark during #WWII, in most cases these specific #graffiti are later additions, though

Ach, #BAföG-Reform.
