🫩 I hate Pokémon Champions. 😮‍💨

My Charizard, Sprockette, out-speeds my opponent’s Sylveon & Tyranitar. Heat Wave KOs Sylveon—and Tyranitar holds on at ONE PERCENT HP 😭 I’m ready to accept the loss… but then best girl Sprockette dodges the Rock Slide! 🤯🏆🙌 One of those #PokémonChampions battles where you really feel the RNG! 🎢🎰😅

The Tyranitar has just used Rock Slide, a move that would knock out Sprockette and win the match for Tyranitar’s trainer. However, text on the screen shows, “Sprockette avoided the attack!”

*very* satisfying win in #PokemonChampions vs a team designed to be maximally annoying. He led Gengar & Vivillon. I said “fine, Perish Song me,” got 🦋&🐭🐭 off the board before Whims&Glim went down. I won weather; no more switches either side. He Encore/Disabled—twice!—but I Struggled for the win 😊🏆

Team select screen in Pokémon Champions ranked double battle. Jen has chosen Glimmora, Whimsicott, Alolan Ninetales, and Kingambit, leaving Charizard and Kommo-O on the bench. Her opponent has Incineroar, Gengar, Vivillon, Sinistcha, Politoed, and Maushold

“You defeated 波家曼饲养员!” says the text on a screenshot of a Pokémon Champions ranked double battle. Jen’s Alolan Ninetales and Kingambit stand under snowy weather across from a solitary Politoed

Jen wins, 波家曼饲养员 loses. He shrugs in defeat while she brandishes a Beast Ball in victory.

I’ve been really happy with my trainer profile pic icon thing in Pokémon Legends: ZA (left), but I was messing around taking selfies on the awning of the Poké Ball Emporium (right) and… idk. Is the new one better? I don’t think so. But is it? (game’s paused at the q while I go do grown-up stuff 😉)

maybe coulda come back from that completely misplayed turn when their Raichu-Y hit Fake Out on my Alolan Ninetales & then their Archaludon (rassum frassum broken freakin bridge 😤) hit her with Flash Cannon 😣 but like… it’s barely 10AM, and the “forfeit” button’s *right there*… 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ #PokemonChampions

tfw when the win that promotes your trans butt to Master Ball rank also ends a Christian’s 9-game win streak 😁

Shiny Mega Glimmora is SO cool, but it’s working only okay from a strategy perspective. It’s just not really quite fast enough to cover all its weaknesses—even with Tailwind, when everyone runs that—and the lack of spread damage makes good reads more essential than I can manage 😅 #PokémonChampions

yeah, catching shiny Glimmora in a Beast Ball was worth it, this is dope lol

Now that I’m playing Pokémon console games again (a game & a half behind, but 🤷🏻‍♀️) I went back to photograph my Pokémon-world-sona in better lighting

I’m not above some meta slop in #PokémonChampions but if an opponent comes at me with some Perish Trap/Toxapex nonsense I’m going to play that out until I get bored, then force-quit the app, then hope the opponent knows that no one in the world will ever love them nor ever has

managed to get a shiny alpha Glimmet in a Beast Ball last night 🙌 (not 🚺, but pobody’s nerfect). Already Modest nature, even! so I guess I’ll be giving #PokémonChampions another try; see if I can get a (Mega?) Glimmora team to work… 🤔

Trying to make a #PokémonChampions doubles team out of my own personal all-time favorite Pokémon (Lucky for me that genuinely includes Charizard & Aerodactyl, lol) Not working out, tho. Any ideas (besides ‘give it up’ and/or ‘git gud’)? Other options: Rotom, Froslass, Sylveon, Pidgeot… Steelix? 🤔

Pokémon Champions screenshot showing Jen’s “All Time Fave” team.

Team includes:
Aerodactyl, ability Unnerve, item Aerodactylite, moves Tailwind, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, Wide Guard

Maushold, ability Friend Guard, item King’s Rock, moves Population Bomb, Super Fang, Encore, Protect

Charizard, ability Blaze, item Charizardite Y, moves Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, Protect

Clefable, ability Magic Guard, item Sitrus Berry, moves Follow Me, Moonblast, Gravity, Life Dew

Ditto, ability Imposter, item Choice Scarf, move Transform

Mimikyu, ability Disguise, item Focus Sash, moves Swords Dance, Shadow Sneak, Shadow Claw, Drain Punch

Page 2 of Jen’s All-Time-Faves team in Pokémon Champions, showing stats.

Maushold is 2, 32, 0, 0, 0, 32. Stat alignment is minus special attack, plus speed.

Charizard is 6, 0, 16, 30, 0, 14. Stat alignment is minus attack, plus special attack.

So now I have $20 of Nintendo eShop credit burning a hole in my Switch. And there’s a $20 bundle of the Batman: Arkham games (Asylum, City… Origins? Idk) Is that worth it? I liked Asylum in 2009, never played the rest. Will they run like butt on my Switch 1, or is it ok bc they’re 12+ yo games?

Jen (Jen-erator E.X.) @jenr8rex.bsky.social · 09/12/2025

Sale on Nintendo eShop credit at Costco (4x$25 for $80) last week, so I pre-bought the Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC that drops on Weds Till then, $30 is “two new outfits”—a glowing blue X set & a glowing pink Y set. Just when I thought I couldn’t make my avatar any more visibly bisexual…

Same as previous, but from a different angle. In addition to Jen’s visor having a blue X pattern, this angle shows her jacket’s back has a glowing pink Y on it. She also has a black-and-pink satchel at her waist.

I love my Special-specced Shiny Dragonite (name: Clearskies) Ice Beam-ing a Garchomp right before it uses Dragon Rush… waiting for other players to engage each other, then dropping Draco Meteor on both of them… These things don’t always work (or even usually) but when they do it’s SO satisfying 😁

Apparently, as of this AM, #Mewtwo is now available in #Pokémon #LegendsZA (It’s a free Mystery Gift (under Link Play—and you have to do a side mission for it, like with Diancie). Learned this when someone whipped it out at :30 remaining in online play. 😓 They won the match… but I KO’d the Mewtwo 😉
