Please understand that Steyer’s dirty & unethical campaigning, from his failed presidential run to now, is exactly how he’d govern. He cares only about buying power, & he’s showing you there’s no low he won’t stoop to & no limit on the amount of money he’ll burn through to get what he wants.

Dolores Huerta endorses Xavier Becerra for Governor! Becerra isn't just a politician who asks for votes. He is the son of a farmworker who walked the picket lines as a child. Huerta spent her career fighting for the legal right of farmworkers to organize.

Becerra took $39k from Chevron. He also sued Big Oil repeatedly, blocked Trump's drilling agenda, & defended CA's emissions rules. Steyer made BILLIONS off fossil fuels (including COAL & OIL SANDS), he financed projects that INCREASED extraction. The damage from his wealth dwarfs a tiny donation.

As Governor, Xavier Becerra will infuse climate policy with environmental justice, focusing on communities hit first and worst by pollution. He has a proven track record to back it up.

Why We Endorsed Xavier Becerra Over Tom Steyer for California Governor
A personal reflection on concentrated wealth, democratic erosion, and why even “good billionaires” can normalize a dangerous political trajectory.

Jen @jenonthenet.bsky.social · 13/05/2026
It’s not theoretical that a billionaire would make populist promises, buy office, then funnel money to his family while cutting services for everyone else. Trump turned the White House into a slush fund (family wealth up $4B since taking office).

The Sierra Club endorsed Steyer, a billionaire who made his fortune from coal & private equity, because he "provided resources to the climate movement," meaning: he funded them.

Bill McKibben criticized Xavier Becerra for taking a small, unsolicited Chevron donation, but he supports Tom Steyer, a billionaire who made his fortune from coal & private prisons.

Steyer stans are leaning heavily into his endorsements from environmental groups while leaving out the fact that many of those same organizations have received significant funding from Steyer & his family foundations.
