WashPo's headlines today are cracking me up. "Surprising ways menopause can affect your mouth" (you mean this spicy truth-portal right here?) and "Parents are ‘going broke on berries’," a story that required 3 journalists to break. 3.

I heard that boo last night from uptown Manhattan. Hieronymus Bosch heard it, too. (He was Dutch, so obvs a fan of the Knicks and not of that ex-NYer.) || detail from the Garden of Earthly Delights
Painting detail of two large pale ears impaled by an arrow, with two dark-robed figures trying to drag a couple of tiny flailing naked people into the ears, while, in the dark and flaming background, a whispy white figure drags another red figure up a ladder toward a gallows. Flames and embers everywhere.

TBH I like Hieronymus Bosch's drones better. || detail from Haywain
Painting of a pile of white clouds from which spill hoards of fantastical blue and pink creatures, with diaphanous wings and tails, that look like they would make you seriously itchy if they landed on you.

Realizing that Hieronymus Bosch—who seemed to be tripping balls while painting flatulence, creepy critters, and vice—kinda nails the current administration and state of affairs. Global tariffs || detail from The Garden of Earthly Delights.
Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights painting contains a lumpy blue orb with several knobby, sharp spikes poking from it. Herons, egrets, and strange birds perch on the orb, while a naked person rides a fish behind it and creatures lurk underneath it.
