I'm almost done with my aunt's estate, almost a year after she died. The greatest gift she gave me as the person managing her care was having all of this in place so I simply didn't have to think about it.

DNI: do not intubate DNR: do not resuscitate DNH: do not hospitalize (if in a nursing home or rehab facility) These are decisions that should never have to be on a next of kin or caregiver to make.

Friendly PSA for my US friends: make sure your parents have wills and Health Proxy+DNI/DNR/DNH forms (and if you're it, have a copy or a picture)

I continue to be blessèdly off of social media (and still barely holding it together) but I must share: A Russian man the approximate size, shape, and age of Danny DeVito had his first pilates class ever on the reformer next to me today. I helped him figure out the springs etc a couple of times.

Popping in to say this is probably the single most healthy thing I've done for myself in a year. You help no one by grinding yourself to dust bearing witness to every horror. Call your reps, volunteer in your community, give money to people who need it, organize with those working toward a goal.

Touched up my first gouache painting last night. There's stuff I'd like to add (the late-afternoon sun spilling across the grass) and fix (that stream is still way too Blue) but one of the joys for me in this whole process is that I don't have the expectation or ability to get things Perfect.

A gouache painting in a small sketchbook. The painting is of Meduseld as Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Gandalf first see it on their way from Fangorn, in the late afternoon sun, the light flashing from the gilded roof, the deep valley dark behind.

Digital artwork depicting a woman with dark hair flowing wildly in the wind, against a sky with swirly stormy clouds. She has a direct gaze and intense expression, and she wears a draped garment. Her hands rest on her chest, from where lightning bolts radiate. The palette is in tones of blue, dark brown, and warm grey.

An illustration of a green-skinned woman surrounded by bright yellow smoke. She's got black hair that curls like horns at the sides and she's staring intently at the viewer.

Also to finish the sidequests takes like 50 power, which I spent because I didn't know what the reward was. The items were fucking sick but I don't think it was terribly worth it, esp now that I have to get all my power back to finish the game.

It's a a tedious grind that has nothing to offer but the worst of DA:I (which is to say, repetitive combat, very annoying collectable quests, and poorly thought out platforming) without any of the good (compelling character work, the feel you are making a direct and important difference in Thedas)

Hello #PortfolioDay! I am a self-taught, disabled digital artist who loves folklore and all green and growing things. Find me here: 🪷 danielletaphanel.com 🌴 linktr.ee/treelet 📥 danielle.taphanel@gmail.com

a simple line drawing of a cityscape, punctuated by the violent impact of a human figure with a large abstract wing emerging from it.

A digital color illustration of tall, thin, old growth trees in a forest which appear to lit up from within. At the center bottom of the image, a female figure drinks from a sake cup as a bloom of smoke emerges from her head. Around her are robed figures seated as if they were rock formations. Large fruit hang as abstract motifs within the trees. A panel of transparent hands, palms raised together, nests in the center of the image.

A digital ink drawing of a human figure viewed from behind as they stand next to a pine tree while looking at the silhouette of a city in the distance. Their clothing drapes on the ground similarly to a pool and then forms a rivulet of water that "leaks" out of the panel into the frame.

A digital watercolor painting of an altar for Guanyin with lit incense and a small basket of citrus fruit laid before her. The altar is in a lush courtyard garden, guarded by a solitary black cat. Succulents, bonsai, ferns, vines, flowering and fruiting trees, and plants of all kinds surround the altar, as incense smoke wafts into a pale blue sky.

Ascendant Digital painting Prints: www.inprnt.com/gallery/caro...

A feminine being, half human, with a serpentine mermaid-like tail and feathery wings. She has dark wavy hair that floats above her, and her arms are raised, while she looks down with a calm expression. She seems to be floating above dark clouds, in a copper sky. The painting has neutral tones of copper, black, and dark blues, with some accents in sky blue, pink, and lilac.
