@biff I can’t remember if you’ve mentioned it on the show, but with so much of his work on the podcast (Supergirl, Lanterns), you should know that the joke about Tom King is that all of his comics involve bad dads, sad dads, or Baghdad.

@enobacon Actually that's the weird thing: I have always been a masher, but in the last month or so I've turned over a new leaf and keep a cadence in the 90s all the time. I'm running a 50/34T and 11-32t on a 700c wheel. Not sure how the cogs are attached to the bracket - looks like a metal […]

Looking for advice on camping via bike, aka bikepacking: My wife and I spent the last 3 days bikepacking around the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, and had a blast, but it was my first time camping and there were two... pain points. 1. We brought some fancy Picaridin insect repellant that promised […]

@Pionir that’s my thinking. My wife went tubeless on her cyclocross bike last fall, and after a half-dozen tube punctures from tiny bits of glass and wire in a month, I went tubeless on my road bike a couple weeks ago. Still trying to get my head around the whole thing. Thanks!

@thechildofroth I’ve already asked the RetroGrouches in the Classic & Vintage section of Bike Forums and gotten one wrong answer. 😀 However, I think it might be a March 1984 PGN 10 based on the serial number starting with 403 and the tubing, forks, and seat tube screw matching this description:
A section of the 1984 Peugeot Bike Catalog showing a black road bike with white bar tape and orange accents. It’s labeled a PGN 10 and has a long list of features which are not on my bike:

Here's the bike in question. The serial number is 4034614 and the sticker says it's Reynolds 501 tubes if anyone wants to help me figure out the year/model! :-) #cycling #BikeTooter
A fixed gear bike made from a vintage black Peugeot steel frame with orange/yellow accents and a polished chrome fork stands on a wooden floor in front of a mid-century Danish cabinet. The bike has a white racing saddle, a short Deda stem with riser flat bars and wooden grips fitted with one brake lever on the right side attached to a front Ultegra brake caliper. The wheels have deep white sections and are fitted with Continental GP4000 23C tires. The Origin8 chainring is white 42T fitted with Sugino RD2 "Messenger" crank arms, and is mated to a 15t cog attached to a flip-flop rear hub.

I thnk I have an answer, or at least some ideas and starting places - let's see how things go at the bike co-op. In the meantime, here's a pic of the bike this was all about. #BikeTooter #cycling #bikemechanics
A road bike with black raw carbon rods for the top tube, down tube and seat tube with decals on them that say "Composite," "Trek" and "2300 Pro" in that order. The lugs, head tube, bottom bracket shell, seat stays, chain stays and forks are painted neon yellow with little gray lines that resemble marbling. There is a black modern Fizik saddle on a black seat post, a black stem mounted to a quill stem adapter, black handlebars with matching yellow tape, and brake levers with modern-shaped black hoods and black levers. The caliper brakes are a medium gray, connected by greenish yellow cable housings. The bike has gray downtube shifters, a silver Dura-Ace crankset with flip-flop flat/SPD pedals, a silver 7400 Dura-Ace front derailleur, a silver Dura-Ace 7410 rear derailleur with a short run of greenish yellow housing, and silver-gray bottle cages. The wheels are nondescript with silver brake tracks and spokes with black Rubino Pro Control tires and too-long valve stems. The bike stands in front of a rich brown wooden mid-century cabinet with shelves below and glassware stored in cabinets above all on a brown hardwood floor.

I got the 12" and was very skeptical of how good the pan would be, but it's really well made, is totally oven-safe (to 1100F°), and doesn't have the problems that other non-stick pans have when used at high heat. It works on all cooktops, and has become my favorite pan incredibly quickily.
