I don't understand how they can both email me what they did and turn around with genai posters? So confused.

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

A wild one is a fest that told me in email that they don't support genAI but now all their posters use it and I'm like... What? But no one seems to be commenting or saying anything on any of their posts, and my comments have gone, unsurprisingly, unresponded to lol

Hey so are people just cool with all these webfests being cool with generative AI or using AI posters just because it gets your name out there? Like is it fine if it promotes your things or...? Where do you draw the line?

3) The rat race of popularity, visibility, and acclaim that keeps creeping into every hobby I love, turning spaces meant for creativity, play, and connection into another place where everyone feels pressured to compete and fight to be seen

Three things I’m not interested in: 1) Telling short TTRPG stories with no room for character development and relationships 2) Monetizing every hobby I have

Hey #TTRPG people, asking again and hoping to get at least a semblance of a response this time, who is attending the NJ Webfest in person this year? I have to ultimately decide if I'm gonna go by tonight and flight prices have been so flip floppy 🫠😰😖

'Life Before Death Strength Before Weakness Journey Before Destination' New art of my Cosmere RPG OC, Nev! I'm SUPER happy with how this turned out. I think I'm finally rediscovering my art style here 🖤

digital illustration by TheMandii showcasing a Cosmere RPG original character named Nevali. The image is a woman with gold-streaked brown hair blowing in the wind along with her cape. She's wearing dark leathers, is heavily armed, and is holding an intricate massive sword called a Shardblade. Around her is swirling Stormlight and ball bearings that have been thrown. The ball bearings connect to the person with lines of white-blue energy symbolizing the power of a coinshot.

"It's always been us against the world." The Last Ideal returns tonight with new character art!💜 Plus a bonus NPC for scale on the height chart. Felarin (center) is ~7ft tall! SO proud of these - tried a new way of coloring & it's was very fun ^_^ #ocsky #cosmererpg #ttrpgart #newtagforartists

Digital art titled "The Last Ideal" by TheMandii. The image features five characters of varying genders, styles, and Rosharan nationalities in a lineup. From left to right: a Veden woman wearing a Kholinar military uniform, she is freckled and has curly red hair with a flower in it and standing straight. A Thaylen man wearing typical Thaylena style clothing and holding tools (hammer and goggles) marking him as an artifabrian. A very muscular, tall Alethi man with slicked back black hair dressed like a boxer in common clothing. A short, sleep-deprived looking nonbinary individual of presumably Alethi descent wearing dark leathers and knives about their person marking them as a thief. Finally, an Alethi/Herdazian nobleman who also looks sleep deprived, wearing many scarves and warm common clothing.

Ranette and her wife Jaxy in her workshop by Cynthia Sheppard. This piece can be found in the Mistborn setting Handbook!

A dark haired woman with olive toned tan skin in the foreground with a rifle over her shoulder, examining the stock and barrel. Her work table before her has tools and a coffee cup with saucer, and bullets. Behind her is a blonde woman in a blue dress watching her from an open doorway, across from her is a wall of rifles and an open flame.

I'd just really like to accept this opportunity, especially with how much LA by Night was my lifeline when I moved away from LA last year and helped me through a rough time and was just a love letter to my experience of living in LA. I wanna go back and be able to experience the story in real life.

120

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

But at the same time I do wish I was known for my player character depth or narrative moments or positive table experiences instead. Or just being a supportive community member or a good or interesting person in the space. I promise there's more to me than just cosplay. 🙃😅😢

110

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

I feel like I've inadvertently pigeonholed myself into being known for my cosplay and only my cosplay in the TTRPG space & I don't know how to move past that. This is such a silly issue & it's better to be known for cosplay & commitment to a character look than nothing at all, which I understand.

I'm on the hunt for a new actual play/streamed campaign or long-term game to join in the new year! I'm cutting WAY back on one-shot/one-session games because I just don't enjoy them as much as getting really into a character or story week to week and developing friendships with the table.

140

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

I had one romance in a game that was great but it felt kind of rushed and unfinished due to the format in which we were recording. We also both died lol. So yeah, give me emotional damage, character growth, and an exciting ship next year, please TTRPG Santa Claus.

030

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

One of my TTRPG goals for 2026, especially since I'm prioritizing longer campaigns, is to have a slow-burn romance. I've wanted one so badly and never had one.

140

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

So I'm on the hunt for a new campaign or long term game to join in the new year! Only you can save me from death from lack of narrative immersion! Keep me in the loop if you see anything? I'm a little pickier about projects these days but I put my whole ass in every game I join!

110

jem : 🔜 Dragonsteel Nexus @jemaginative.bsky.social · 06/12/2025

I'm currently in two long format ttrpg games, but one is going to end at the end of this year... I have a unique requirement for my survival. I need at least two long-term games to obsess over or I perish.
