Jelte van der Vaart, postdoc in our lab, has been awarded an NWO Veni grant! 🎉 He will develop human adrenal organoids to uncover how hormone producing cells change identity and function, shedding light on endocrine health. We're so proud of his achievement and will support him along the way 😁

Only 2 weeks left until I run up the Alpe d’Huez for cancer research! 🏃‍♂️⛰️ Training is going strong, and I’m so close to reaching my €2500 fundraising goal. Help me get there — and support research into rare cancers like adrenocortical cancer. 💛 Donate here: www.opgevenisgeenoptie.nl/fundraisers/...

🌍 Today is #RareDiseaseDay Adrenocortical cancer affects just 1–2 per million, making research and treatment development challenging. But rare shouldn’t mean forgotten! ACC research is key to better treatments. Let’s keep pushing forward! #AdrenocorticalCancer #RareButImportant

Pre-print Alert! 📢 Proud to share our insights on WNT7B driving pancreatic cancer progression. Sprangers et al uses organoids to show that WNT7B employs short-range signaling driving tumor growth and mediate a shift of PDAC cells towards a more aggressive phenotype www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

WNT7B drives a program for pancreatic cancer subtype switching and progression
Hyperactivation of WNT signaling is a well-established hallmark of cancer. Various epithelial cancers express high levels of WNT7B and WNT10A that are not commonly expressed during tissue homeostasis,...

Excited about our pre-print on AXIN1 mutations in HCC! We found that AXIN1 mutations drive low but physiologically relevant levels of Wnt/β-catenin signaling, while being permissive to YAP/TAZ activation. This helps explain why mutations in AXIN1 and β-catenin are linked to distinct HCC subtypes.
