To make $1.8 billion a real number, this is like the President taking 100% of federal income taxes paid in total by every citizen in all of the Tennessee counties on this map. The President is embezzling those tax payments and funneling the cash to his political supporters.
Map of every county in West Tennessee excluding Shelby County.

As @jeffyarbro.bsky.social noted, exactly how stupid is the new hyper-gerrymandered / racist TN Congressional map? In the Nashville area, during the 20 min drive between the Krispy Kreme on Thompson Lane and the Krispy Kreme on Mallory Lane, you pass through FIVE different congressional districts.
A map of congressional districts showing that Nashville/Davidson county includes 3 different congressional districts and that Williamson County/Brentwood (just south of Davidson county and within the greater Nashville area) includes 2 additional congressional districts

FWIW, here’s the map we proposed after the last census. This is what it would look like to draw districts to ensure they represent the actual people who actually live in Tennessee rather than to rig the maps for partisan gain.

This ruling isn’t a surprise. The unconstitutionality has been clear from the jump. But farmers & small businesses have already been harmed. Most families paid $1,000+ of illegal taxes. US relations with the world already thrown into chaos. And all based on an abuse of power.

How can Sen. Hagerty act so shocked? The January Report disclosed retrieving toll records for calls from WH to a handful of senators on night of J6. And it was public that he was in that handful. It’d be crazy for a prosecutor not to have those records when the calls were a big part of indictment.

We’re missing basic civics here. It’s Congress—not the President—that has the constitutional power to call out the Guard. Congress’s laws let presidents deploy under narrow, specific circumstances. For nearly 250 years, courts have enforced those limits to prevent abuse of power.
