We don't have the option of NOT funding our schools, our fire departments, roads, senior services, etc. When the legislature keeps sending less money and costs keep going up, the only source is property taxes. That's a choice our legislature is making. If you don't like it, vote them out!

It's a lot of factors—but what they all have in common is that they are state policies. I'm a local elected official. People (quite rightly!) complain to me about the property tax burden. I try to help them understand that the state share of our funding has literally never been lower.

Of all the conversations I'm having while canvassing, this is one of two that really seems to be resonating this year. (The other is "Oh, you hate high local property taxes? Me too. That's a policy made at the state level. Send different people to represent us in Columbus!")

I agree with this on some level. But in a *competitive* hobby like fantasy football, part of the reason to do it* is to compete against friends. If my friends were not playing and I was just playing against a bot that my friend set up? Not much fun, not much of a friend. * I gave up FF ~5 years ago

Don't know the guy, but in my experience it's likely something like "pshen-NEETCH-kuh," or "pshen-NITCH-kuh." That said, it's also probably got a widely accepted pronunciation in...Czechia?...but ten different pronunciations in the US.

I love this. My grandparents also born on the same day - they would have been 100 on August 3. They'd been married over 68 years when he died in 2016. She died last year just before her 99th birthday (but that means she did live in 100 calendar years!). My older brother also shares their birthday.
