I know this is annoying for me to say, but as someone who started an engagement journalism program in 2014 w/@jeffjarvis, it's funny that in 2026 a big insight is "There’s a shift away from volume toward relationship-building, w/ publishers exploring new ways to measure engagement beyond clicks."

What's all the more creepy about Bostrom as a dystopian is that he presents a utopia that is infantilizing and dismissive of humanity. When tech makes us all redundant, they may grant us "artificial purpose". His utopia is dystopian. 5/

This, on the #BrokenTimes, is very good. I'm more polemical because I see urgency. The Times, as the winner-takes-most survivor, has a near monopoly on newsroom resources and public-discourse attention. As @perrybaconjr.bsky.social says, we need radical leadership for post-Trump 🙏 Reconstruction.
