that stance may seem extreme, but without repercussions like that in place the ai-pilled people just lose their mind and are so blinded by marketing hype that they completely lose perspective for actual cost/benefit tradeoffs

it looks like engage did this too (tho I never played..), but at least there the color of the arrow is a slight version for that effect — two blue arrows feels a bit more exciting than one blue arrow. but in fortune’s weave it’s just like an extra row on a boring spreadsheet….

one part of the fortune’s weave ui I really don’t like is the way the damage preview shows double attacks — it’s handy how it breaks it down into chronological rows, but it is just totally lacking in terms of the *excitement* (or dread!) you would get from seeing the blue “x2” arrow

the text log ui in new fire emblem is pretty neat! the way the currently displayed line just becomes the lowest item in the list once you open the text log is very slick (and kind of obvious in retrospect, and yet I can’t recall any other games using that approach)

something I’ve been thinking about w/ iPhone Duo on the horizon—are there any apps that look truly great in *landscape* on iPad? even great iPad apps seem to treat landscape like an afterthought (eg video apps just resize portrait ui so that a banner takes up 80% of the screen)

I admit it looks super off-putting at first glance (though much more like the silly fanmade unreal demos than dlss5 imo), but it meshed with me a lot more as the demo went on and I got acclimated to it. and I think especially in the Adult side of the game it’ll feel very fitting.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they make mcu magento a survivor of a more modern disaster, but I hope it’s clear to people that a change like that *is* fundamentally a pro-israel change. it’s de-clawing a critique that, if left as is, would be seen as too dangerous today *because* it condemns israel.

I swear, you can put stories in front of people’s faces with messages that blatantly criticize modern israeli policy, and people will still somehow think the main message is pro-israel if there’s even an ounce of sympathetic backstory for a jewish person.
