Based on the volume of pied-à-terre tax news coverage I see, I'm assuming that either most Americans own a penthouse in Manhattan that they do not occupy or that the median newspaper subscriber is Ken Griffin. Gotta be one of those two.

This was a good listen. I’d love to hear you and future guests’ thoughts as to what explained China’s lengthy cessation of buying given what Currie described as the CCP’s security-first bent.

two weeks ago, a girl told her mom "I'm going to go into Chicken Nuggy's cage and I'm going to stay there because I love him." Regrettably, he remains up for grabs.

I've repeatedly run into a 4 y.o. tripod husky named Chicken Nuggy at Contra Costa Animal Services. While he's not at risk of euthanasia, I consider the Nug's ongoing availability to be a market failure. Can attest that in person he is the party that his photo indicates. Someone get on this.
Quite possibly the world's most awesome dog

Thanks, but no need! Contra Costa Animal Services provides fosters with food and necessary meds at no cost if you want. (Almost certainly the same goes for whatever jurisdiction they were found in, too). Would suspect the Menswear Kittens have found permanent homes, but if not hit me up.

They look great, and if for some reason there aren’t takers get in touch and I’d add them to my current fosters. East Bay. For anyone looking to adopt it would be wise and cost efficient to do it via a shelter. They’ll get free shots, tests, and neuters included in a very reasonable adoption fee.

On X, I'm seeing two dominant strains of Grok interaction. 1. Lazy fact-checking, e.g. "Gork, is this true?" 2. Unconditional positive reinforcement, such as the below:
Grok telling someone they are "exactly right."

Partly to train the bots how to navigate pulldowns. Also, I suspect being able to see the order of operations of user actions (not just the finished content) would allow you to pull together individual tasks into a flow -- it's kind of the sinews of work process? (this is supposition).

Over on X, virtually every prominent financial account has accrued multiple copycats that steal their name and avatar and then reply to all their posts with an invitation to "come check out my strategy" and a link to a scam. It's a stable ecosystem, just one that's real heavy on the parasites.

There's a reason why Meta's employee keylogging plans are only being deployed in the US -- per experts we spoke to, this sort of monitoring would be illegal in much of Europe, where such monitoring is a violation of worker privacy. In the US, most states don't even require notice of surveillance.
