I can see every place I didn't sand fully or properly clean up drips, but it still kicks ass. Base metallic aluminum coat done. Accent colors, and graphite to come.

Graphite powder is both magic, and disappointingly amazing at masking the color beneath it. I was hoping for more of a blue metal, but still, this is sorcery. This was the test piece for resin, paint, graphite for the helmet, and the aluminum paint looks amazing, but we need a rework on color plans.

Apparently it snowed Saturday up here. Hiking with the family on Sunday was gorgeous.

One of the things I've been enjoying in unemployment is a salad lunch with leftovers from the previous week. Behold, the roasted potato, arugula, tomato salad with sriracha mayo dressing. Extra dill and parsley were added after it was tossed.

Teaching my daughter the fine art of fly tying with whatever materials you have at hand, and the occasional four letter word. This as yet unnamed fly pattern turned out to be a redhead. She did most of the tying with some assistance.

Brandi Carlile has such a deep affection for the older generation of musicians and it's genuinely lovely. Bonnie Raitt at 76 was still amazing. Brandi's drummer Terence Clark agrees.
