And I guess we have to remember that Taiwan is still waiting on closure of a $40 billion arms deal that t has stalled. I expect this had a lot to do with the Taiwanese signing up for the LNG. I am also sure that the fact there is a contagious Senate race in Alaska has nothing to do with anything.

I have to take this back. Taiwan has also announced the deal to buy LNG from this Alaskan facility that does not yet exist and whose financing is still in doubt. S Korea is supposed to provide most, if not all financing, part of a tariff deal, but has objections, and it has not yet been finalized.

T put his tariffs in place in part to slow imports into the US and in part to slow exports out of China. The exact opposite has happened with both US imports and Chinese exports at record highs. Another 'goal' was to move production / manufacturing to the States. That isn't happening either . . .

Ukraine says Starlink restricted operations overnight, disrupting military missions
Elon Musk's Starlink imposed restrictions on the operation of internet terminals in Ukraine overnight, disrupting military missions, an adviser to the Ukrainian president said on Wednesday. The official said Ukraine was given no prior warning about the restrictions to the satellite system it relies on for battlefield operations.

And people wonder why many countries and companies are seeking an alternative to StarLink. Apparently Musk has decided w or w/o discussion with t to stop or slow Ukrainian access. And many people wonder why Musk and StarLink (SpaceX) are hated the world over!

It is clear that President Trump needs Russian diesel to at least somehow decrease prices before the November 3 election. The US itself exports about 1.5 million barrels of diesel daily. But due to the global deficit, prices on the American market have grown by approximately 70%, to $6.28 per gallon⤵️

I assume the attack was of Russian origin. Not close to details but think this is a safe assumption. In this case Bulgaria and the EU have to consider retaliation against other Russian shipping in the Black Sea. This has to be annonomus of course perhaps hiding it behind a possible Ukrainian source.

I keep wondering what gives wrt t's dealings with Putin? T's strong affinity to support Putin makes no sense; I can't figure it out. One part may be a strong loathing towards Ukraine. Maybe he wants Putin's support for stuff like Venezuela. I also wonder what Putin has on him. Can you say kompromat?

StarLink, by proxy SpaceX, continues to be under pressure. Most countries and many businesses don't trust Musk. Alternatives are appearing. I see continued sliding of their business. Though, of course, as long as t has control of the country's purse there is always government money to sustain them.

What a joke. T moves to recapture momentum going into the midterms by making a deal the US really doesn't need and with a country that is very unlikely to deliver. The US already makes more than enough diesel to meet its needs. The price is high because the world price is high. But who understands?

From the NYT we see the amount of the release is to be less than 1 day's worth of world consumption and the amount of the 100 million barrels that is to be diesel is not stated. T gets his news headline; the rest of the G7 agreed to little and probably not much more that they were going to do anyway

T is making many economic announcements as of late before final agreements have been reached putting foreigners on the spot. This leaves the pseudo-agreers with the choice of either backing t up or becoming targets of his wrath and tariff-setting abilities. Is this the our new way of doing business?
