SIX London councils have now said they will refuse to support the Home Office’s racist immigration raids. Thank you Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Hackney, Waltham Forest and Haringey. These raids persecute migrants, tear apart our communities & seek to spread fear and division. We won’t let them.

Today we’re at the all-party parliamentary group on Migration meeting about the right to work for people seeking asylum in the UK.  People seeking asylum in the UK are effectively prohibited from working and instead must rely on asylum support of just over £7 per day. [1/2]

We are deeply saddened and outraged by the deaths of 4 people in the channel. These deaths are completely avoidable. They are the direct result of violent border policies, enacted by the UK, French & EU governments. People seeking refuge must be allowed to use the same routes as everyone else.
