“It’s basically a belief system that turns you into a human ulcer.”
“It’s hard to explain, I don’t even totally get it myself. All these tech guys are into it, and it’s about, like…
So you know that guy I dated for four years who was horrible? I think he was a rationalist.
He would send me all these reddit posts… self-serious but ultimately pointless variations on the trolley dilemma… ‘look at this snuff image or youre not enlightened…’ ‘difficult truths’ that are really just conservative talking points…
And when I heard rationalism described to me once, it instantly made me think of those posts. It’s like life is a video game to them, but not one they even have fun playing.”

Like, they wanna have tons of sex but they don’t even like it. It’s like they’re just trying to boost their stats, grind for exp! They think everyone around them is a mob of npcs.

Weird…

And they’re OBSESSED with the white birth rate.

Of course these rationalists, these self-important open sores of human beings, think that
1)they can make a “superintelligence,”
2) if they make it, it will want to wipe out humanity.
They have no imagination! A superintelligent being that had no physical body, that wouldn’t age or die… obviously it would figure out how to make itself portable and see the universe and learn as much as it could! But these ketamine-addicted manbabies are completely uncurious.

What scares me isn’t that they’ll make a killer machine god. It’s that they’re “aligning” this technology they do have with these ideals. Their technology isn’t unbiased at all.

A tiny handful of misanthropic nerd boys,deciding what kind of slop propaganda gets put out there. Who keeps their job and who gets fucked. Holding this threat of “superintelligence” and infrastructure hacks over our heads until they get what they want.

So uh, yeah. Long story short, rationalism is a philosophy that makes you okay with doing that kind of horse shit.

I see people talk about this a lot and I guess I’ve just been lucky to have never come across this? The largest indie comic/zine show I’ve done is FLUKE, and they’re awesome about having height restrictions on displays, making sure your table is at least 50% comics and/or zines, etc.

Been doing a couple of face redraws just with my computer mouse as I’ve been cleaning up my pages. Generally I’m in favor of not going back and changing old work, but since I haven’t printed this yet or published it anywhere online I’m okay with redrawing stuff here and there!
