I may have came off confident. But I learned the last week when ordering parts. And props to Logitech for partnering with iFixit to provide genuine replacement batteries. 5 screws and the battery has a connector, not soldered

Removed it, HOLY COW. Have never had a mouse with such low friction. I wonder if new mice come with a peel on the skates...

Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 03/08/2026
After finishing and putting new skates on, I was underwhelmed. The friction was about the same. Today, I tipped the mouse over by accident (as happens with vertical mice) and I saw a dangling plastic film, a peel.

PSA: Replacement skates for your mouse can have a clear plastic peel on it. Yesterday I replaced the battery in my mouse which meant removing the skates to get to the screws, it was good to replace them anyways (5+ years)

you haven't lived until you've read the Greek/Latin translation cover to cover via a liberal arts college Classics department. Latin here.

no ideas here other than maybe you have the claude desktop app on your macbook? and its giving access to your local resources to the session in Switzerland. As of yesterday, I can just open Claude Desktop/Mobile and see Code sessions in my sandbox (without running /remote-control first)

Claude just started sending me push notifications today through the mobile app when a session in Solo had prompt with a question/answer...incredibly helpful to catch my attention.... but what's happening to you, next level.

Oh, she definitely understands. But it still wasn't an accepted random number. I told her she wouldn't like my second answer either. She asked one of the kids.... Second answer was of course going to be 100

"A" being correct mustn't feel random enough even for an LLM. This is a true story: my spouse asked for a random number 1-100 for something. I answered "1" and that didnt go over too well...

I can finally remove my cobbled together PDF encryption?!? 🎉 now i just need to migrate from the browsershot package to this abstracted package using cloudflare and that'd be two more items ticked off my Laravel Cloud Blockers list

incredible job list page from the details down to the presentation. As much as you three want to work with someone who cares (as is clear from the listing), people want to work for places that also care (again, as you clearly do from the listing)

I wonder if there's a way to customize your max context size 🤔
000
Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 28/04/2026
this is what i've started to do. Not at a particular context size, just being more aware of the size and either compacting or starting a new session (if that makes sense to do) I agree though, quota usage jumped for me when max context went to 1M. No real discernable different in my prompting.

if whatsdiff went to the package's repo and looked for UPGRADING.md and/or the release notes for the X.0.0 version release, that'd be a killer feature that boost does not have
100
Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 22/04/2026
shoot, i just did this this morning. Though I did use Laravel Boost's /upgrade-laravel-v13 claude command. It output almost everything whatsdiff's screenshot shows I had to then go to every package's repo/docs that needed a major version bump to track down upgrade directions for breaking changes

oh, then this is different than my problem This only just started happening for me about 2 weeks ago I'll be reading output as it comes and it'll scroll all the way to the top. I scroll back down, start reading, scrolls to top Is that pretty much this year long scroll problem?

I've thought of this kinda, but in a different way I have used Claude for tasks that are not salacious, but instead I just do not want it entering the agent's memory because it has nothing to do with my day-to-day work

Yeah data exfiltration...one of the reasons Claude has its own DB and redis for me... Just in case

Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
Having it local is key for sure... I can copy/paste to/from it to my computer. Even pasting screenshots into Claude from my computer

Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
Yeah, that was a problem for me too. I'm on windows, and my Claude VM is also windows with vs code, tables plus, etc. I remote desktop to it and it's like working on my computer exactly.

A bit paranoid perhaps, but to lose my work computer to an errant command from Claude... I was going to let that happen! And I grew tired quickly of allowing permissions manually
200
Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
Claude VM is on 24/7 along with an Ubuntu VM for MySQL and redis And both are in an isolated vlan, so they are completely isolated from my home network and servers.

I run a couple proxmox (hypervisor) hosts here at home. Bit of a luxury to already have the infrastructure At the beginning I did run claude in docker locally, but soon outgrew it and wanted to be able to turn off my work computer overnight.

Note: it has never destroyed itself for me. Just a safety measure. Also I know exactly which of files it has access to. Only what I give, not whatever it finds

Jeremy Braband @jbraband.bsky.social · 28/02/2026
Skipping permissions dangerously here since September. HUGE unlock to know it can only destroy itself and I can just boot another VM in its place!
