Great book. Named our son Samuel after a somewhat minor character in the book. We’d been reading it together near the end of her pregnancy and after we came home with him and still hadn’t chosen a name, we remembered this righteous character in the book named Samuel.

We were there as a family last summer. The Burke-Gilman trail is so safe and so convenient to get to great neighborhoods like Fremont and (almost) Ballard. Bike share bikes were plentiful to use. And nerdy, but the Ballard Locks were super interesting! Locks are kind of amazing!

Seattle is a great city, and I’ve appreciated the walking, biking and transit on this trip. But it’s been a while since I’ve been on mixed traffic streetcar, and I still fail to see the value add. I’m sure there are some places where it makes sense, but I always feel like I should have walked.

I was in SF a couple of weeks ago and almost took the longer trip with Caltrain to Millbrae for the airport as opposed to BART because I was excited to get a feel and (lack of) smell for the electrified system. Didn't end up being able to, but next time for sure!
