I spent 2.5 hours hammering out my dissertation topic, plan for qualitative research, and future impact for my fellowship report. I'm even developing a new methodology. I feel emotional and accomplished. It's so good. I can tell this will one day be groundbreaking work.

I often say i could never live in NY because I've romanticized it my entire life and I know it's probably nothing like i see in my head. But then I see videos of the cafes, book events, community, art, festivals, and walkable areas, etc. And I think..."maybe one day"

It's just interesting because I would tell people this and they would scoff. And when I recently began playing the cello, my instructor would say "wow, you picked that up pretty quick" and I'd say "I'm just excited" But now I wonder if I should give it a harder go.

When I was younger I played the piano and for the most part, I focused more on playing by ear because I was lazy (had undiagnosed adhd) and couldn't be bothered learning how to read music - although I eventually did. According to Ancestry.com's new 'trait's feature, my dna says I can play by ear.

Grief sneaks up you so suddenly. I realized I missed the day my daughter Iris Giana passed - May 23 (2017). It was Naomi's last day of kindergarten and I guess in the excitement, it slipped my mind. I'm the only one that celebrates her memory, and I fucking forgot. I don't know how to process.
