I am very tired of people who are more athletic than me suggesting I go into the trades.... i am a nerd, not a jock. I left my last long term job because of physical exhaustion. I was particular irritated when they gave me shit about wanting to be a teacher. I live in California! We have unions!

Thank you! Im nervous but excited. Gunna be weird being the old fart in class but still excited none the less.

I usually do split windows, stacked, max and min lines 10, the smallest size. But thats just lately. Did you turn off the "window effect'? It makes the ui much snappier.

I miss internet 1.0 and idc what people tell me. It was infinitely more usable than this modern shit.

Runs wonderfully on steam deck.

jbeavis100 @jbeavis100.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Thank you!, its been a decade since my last run at college so im excited about the prospect!

did some thrifting and dollar store shopping, cut my costs for my school supplies down significantly. ordering the rest on amazon cuz im particular about pens and the backpack/messenger bag, now it's just finishing enrollment and financial aid and im all set!

110

now that i've got the laptop, the biggest expensive thing i need to go back to college, i just have get the rest of my supplies. laptop case, pens/pencils, new bookbag (my old ones are in tatters), sharpener, portfolio and folders. cant wait to watch my balance disappear. excited!

000

this reminds me that i need to play a spooky game this year. I said to myself last year I was going to play a spooky game for the season but never did.

110

here's the specs to that laptop that i got for going back to college. absolute powerhouse. wiped the gross windows 11 off of it and swapped to linux mint and its been incredibly smooth.

040

the visual style for this is so incredibly striking. I hope I'm good enough to actually enjoy it.

if you need any advice, hit me up. I've played literal years of hours of that game.

000

Best thing to come out of that movie. GREAT game.

000

Much of the scripting stuff people claim can be done with in-game macros. Its not QUITE as intensive. The game is incredibly daunting to new players and its iffy tutorials dont teach you much. Ive played thousands of hours across 2 official and 5 fan servers and I learned more from other players.

Its been a weird week. Not good, not bad, just.. weird. Vibes are overall looking good though!! College paperwork is going smoothly, the laptop is bought for school is badass. May have a new job on the horizon 🤔. Im feeling very hopeful!

I tried it awhile ago, I wandered into a spider cave, got trapped and never got around to trying it again...

Megaman legends 3 WAS in development for 3ds but was cancelled. It was a big deal at the time. I remember they also released the very cool looking EX troopers exclusively in Japan around the same time.

I love easy linux has gotten. I picked up this second hand laptop, wiped windows 11 off the drive and got linux mint rolling and ive havent had to touch the terminal once. i remember the days of ubuntu 8.04 and how much more work it was back then to make sure stuff worked.

Small world and once in a blue moon, things happen that restore a tiny bit of your faith in humanity.

Since im possibly going back to college in a couple months, ive been saving up money for a new laptop. I found a great one for an affordable price but I didn't have all of it, I messaged the seller and turns out, we went to high school together. He offered to knock what I didn't have off the price.

Started doing discord movie nights with friends and its been such a rewarding experience sharing movies with friends. We all watched clue together on friday and it was so fun! Especially getting to hear the reactions of the couple ppl who hadn't seen it. Highly recommended!

someone on a website (idr where) said they thought it might have to do with men going to college in far lesser numbers due to the influence of the right wing to attempt to push men into the trades.

Future Century still does New York Pride #art

A digitally colored sketch of Team Neo America at a pride parade.
Janet is in a pan flag tee and cuffed shorts, and has a sign in one hand that says "Support your sisters, not just your cis-ters" and the other hand around Shirley's waist.
Shirley is wearing a dress that says "self-made woman" and is flashing a peace sign at the camera.
Chibodee is wearing his normal choker, a shirt that says "Some men were born with the right body, others had to fight for it", cutoff shorts, and the bi pride colors painted on his face.
Bunny is wearing a tank top, mini skirt, headband, and a belt with a spade on it, and is hugging Chibodee with one arm and showing off her ace pride manicure with the other.
Cath is wearing a rainbow tank top, capris and sunglasses, and is smiling at the rest of the group.

I can tell the midterms are coming, all of a sudden my youtube shorts are laced with right wing bullshit, no matter how many times I click that I'm not interested.

Most people who say shit like this are looking for something to pick a fight about.

jbeavis100 @jbeavis100.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Also, I miss action movies that aren't cape shit. Sorry, not sorry. Marvel is fun and i like some of the movies but I HATE that comic book movies have largely replaced traditional action movies.

jbeavis100 @jbeavis100.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

I've been on an action movie kick. Started with Constantine then Johnny Mnemonic, Burglar and now Bloodsport. Of those I hadn't seen Constantine and bloodsport. I realized recently I hadn't seen that many JCVD movies. Gunna try and watch more this week.

You can be tired, but you'll never be as tired as an indoor cat who's slept for 18 hours, eaten 4 meals, looked out the window for 20 minutes, and decided it's time for another nap.

Jinx the green eyed bobtail cat looking out the window from the back of her tan chair.

That's another good one. Saw that awhile ago too.

Johnny mnemonic is underrated af. The monowire from cp2077 is clearly taken from this adaption. I need to dig deep into late mid to 90s cyberpunk. I loved virtuosity and hackers and I keep meaning to watcg lawnmower man. Any suggestions bluesky?

Holy crap, great fucking movie. Doing a Keanu double feature with one i have seen before, Johnny mnomic, a movie that I still think kicks ass.

Watching Constantine for the first time. Seems incredibly cool so far.

Jeffries should lose his ASS for this. Traitor behavior.
