Today's show. Let me tell you, as stunning as you may think Lupita Nyong'o is on screen, she is ten times that in person. I am not familiar with how much theater work she's done but she was excellent in the role of A.

Anytime anyone askes me about future plans in the next 5 to 10 years (I'm at that age where it now comes up in convo, especially since my kid is graduating college next May, and also b/c I keep talking about how I hope I get laid off), I show them this. Very, very few know or appreciate my answer.

Elderly woman in the midst of a raging fire burning her books around her.

Saw Fear of 13 today w/ Tessa Thompson (whose fan I've been since she appeared in the Cold Case episode "Best Friends" ~20 yrs ago) & Adrian Brody. No stage door today b/c they were prepping to go straight to the Tonys. A pity; they're both, especially Tessa, apparently very nice about doing it.

Part of my bday gift to J is putting his books in order on the 10 bookcases he has in his bedroom. (Yes. 10.). Which means pulling off books at least off the first row of each shelf on each case to see what's on each shelf (most shelves are double stacked. This took 3 solid hours. 2 down, 8 to go.😮‍💨

Just saw Data at the Lucille Lortelle. It was very good and very targeted towards current events. The lead,Karan Brae, played the Indian friend in the original Diary Of A Wimpy Kid movie and, well, I'm old. Also he was fantastic.

I didn't need more reasons to love NYC's Port Authority-clean, safe station; friendly employees; clean bathrooms so well kept]; great location) but their newest addition to their various stores is Le Cafe Coffee which makes a great London Fog (my fave). #portauthority #nyc #nycportauthority

First of doubleheader in NYC today done. Just brilliant. The whole cast was great. Emma D'Arcy and Tobias Menzies were perfect counterpoints with her character's raw fragility and his checkin intensity. Third row center was definitely the way to go. #emmadarcy #theotherplace #nycplays #theshed

Took my niece to see Hadestown on Broadway. Everything being said about the current cast is true. The give leads are phenomenal. Jack Wolfe has spoiled me for Orpheus forever. He brings perfect new gestures & facial reactions to the role. His voice is insane. #hadestown @bethinsac.bsky.social

Message from one of two friends who was able to connect. The "it was for nothing" is because the Western government's sat by and did nothing while people were slaughtered, as they have time and again when it's primarily NOT white people. Translation in comment. #iran #iranmassacre

Translation of Persian text; Hi dear Jayran, thank you for thinking of me. I've been able to connect for a few minutes, I don't know if I'll be able to again or not.
I cannot describe for you the horrific nights we have had. So many people lost so many esp their young ones and every family is grieving and it was all for nothing.

One of my favorite movies. Saw it in the theatre, bought it on VHS, and got it on Blu-ray the day Criterion released it. Denzel Washington and Sarita Choudhury are one of the most beautiful couples to grace a screen. This movie made me a Mira Nair fan for life.

Immediately brought up @djrobertdrake.bsky.social's TBN cam to keep me company as I finish wrapping and decorating. (The boys are listening in the car, 30 mins away; I left before them.)

#3. Both Reeves & Winters were very good, and Durdin & Thornton as Pozzo and Lucky were superb. I am a fan of Jamie Lloyd's productions, even though I'll also admit they can be a little..anti typical theater in order to then be overly theatrical (if that makes sense) so I enjoyed the direction too.

The kid sent me this to cheer me up. It worked. Man, I love that kid.

A comic panel summarizing The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie with the recurring gag of Poirot calling Dr. Sheppard by his old sidekicks name, Hastings, and being corrected, except for the last panel wher he is about to reveal the murderer and calls him by the correct name and Dr. Sheppard now says to be called Hastings. Also includes amusing one liners about each of the suspects and their thoughts on the murder, in each of the three panels. Created by LeUyen Pham.

Its called the travel hoodie, but in our house it's known as the zoning out/ do not approach the wearer hoodie, especially if the hood is also tightened & hands are in the kangaroo pocket. P.S. I usually don't go for social media sells but this hoodie is pretty awesome and weighted if you like that.

The first synphony of Beethoven's I listened to from start to end was his No. 1, at age 11. It had the same effect of me that his third did on Mick from The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter (look it up; one of the best descriptions of the impact of music ever.) I totally would have lost my head. #beethoven

This pretty much sums up my review of Death Becomes Her. W/ one additional note: I kept thinking Megan Hilty was playing the role as if it was Kristen Chenoweth as Glinda p?laying the role. I've never seen her in anything before, & I get the role asks for over the top but the echoes were too strong.
