If you grow it in a pot with some protection you’ll hopefully be okay. I planted mine beside our pond, it grew fantastically well, flowering terrifically until the slugs found it 🙁

Urticaria or Chronic Hives, is a skin condition that I seem to be afflicted with now. The attached photos tell the story of how Utricaria has affected me so far. I decided to write a diary about it because I’m bored and feel like writing this down gives me some control of the narrative 🙂

I remember how excited Big Ron was when he brought in almost an entire team’s of recruits (and that famous photo) back in 91 (?). All of them (except Paul Mortimer) went on to be club legends. Unai Emery’s demeanour reminds me of the twinkle in Big Ron’s eye. He’s excited by what he’s got cooking

York: After Dark Last week Sue & I visited York to see our youngest & do a bit of sightseeing. On our last night I went for a wander around the old town. The streets are different after dark, strange & uncertain, the shadows uncanny with dark possibilities. I made these images along the way 🤓

Metro Brum isn’t blessed with an iconic mass transit network like some places. However, our Tram system is slowly growing and during 2026 I’ve found myself lingering along the city route, intrigued by what images I can make. It’s kinda crept up on me, but it’s becoming a full blown project 📸🤓

Science Fiction. When I started out in photography (2017/18) my motivations were relatively simple. Capturing the world around me as I saw it. Fast forward to now and I find those motivations rather different. Now I’m making images of a fictional world that I’ve imagined 🤩📸

They say change is good & that #avfc are due for an overhaul but, this stings! Players we’ve grown to love deserting us. Our first home game is gonna be weird, an unrecognisable team playing in a building site in front of thousands of discombobulated fans. Istanbul feels like a lifetime ago 😔

Surrealist impressions Back in the day, my gateway drug into the arts were the surreal paintings of Rene Magritte and soft swirling drama of J.M.W.Turner. Decades later, here I am dragging my camera shutter in the hope of capturing something weirdly elemental on the streets of Brum 🤓

Birmingham, recently. I’m on a social media cleanse right now. Sharing less but trying to make what I do share more meaningful (whatever that means!) My images were all snapped in the relatively small area of Southside, Birmingham. It’s become my beat, the area I like to patrol, a favourite haunt 📸

Heralds of the Dawn. The Summer Solstice at Stonehenge is one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. Just before dawn, the surrounding fields filled with rolling mists. And from within, eldritch figures emerged, heralds welcoming the dawn. Turned out they were locals 🤣 Stonehenge, 2026.

Tenby, after hours. Whilst on holiday in Tenby, South Wales, I made a few images around the town after dark. I’d forgotten how empty these places get post 11pm. We’re so used to cities being 24/7 places. In the real world, closing time really means closing, and the places empty of people.
